Nintendo OFFICIALLY Confirms SNES Games For New Nintendo 3DS!

You have to buy one of them, and when you try to buy the other one, the price changes.

As predicted, these do not allow for multiplayer download play.

As shitty as it is that purchases don't carry over, I'm even more disappointed about not being able to transfer saves between VC purchases on Nintendo hardware.

F-Zero doesn't have multiplayer so it obviously can't support download play anyway.

Super Mario Kart is the first and only game with simultaneous multiplayer ([edit]: in its original release) on N3DS SNES VC.

I was hoping my fiancee could use her 3ds to use Luigi in Mario world if I bought it. No go then?

Asynchronous multiplayer is supported since the emulator lets you reassign the controls to controller port 1 and 2 so you can in fact play the switch-off modes in SMW, DKC and DKC2.

What does it mean ?

added this: "([edit]: in its original release)" since I don't own the N3DS VC version and only know what GenG3000 claims to be the state of things.

edit: and what Jo Shishido's Cheeks said.

Mario World technically had multiplayer too, but it wasn't with two players playing simultaneously.
Mario Kart is the first game of the 6 released so far that has 'true' multiplayer, so is the only chance so far to check whether the feature will be added for SNES games as a whole.

Yeah, that's what I did'nt get, without your edit I thought that there was a way to get multiplayer. :)

The lack of a wireless local multiplayer option is quite disappointing for Super Mario Kart, as a few NES games had it (and Pokémon B/R/Y of course).
Definitely getting both games tonight though, and can't wait for DKC + DKC in US versions!

Also I'm really curious about what we're going to get next. Secret of Mana would be so, so awesome, along with other already confirmed games in Japan.
What do you think the "sharing gameplay information" is made for?

Btw, I've checked Super Metroid's manual again yesterday and the total lack of actual game informations only concerns French, German and Italian languages. It's there in English, and Spanish. Weird :/

Maybe because it's the US version of the game ?

No it has nothing to do with the game's language, even for US (NES, SNES) and English only games we always have a multi-language digital instructions manual, including French. The other SNES games have it as well (I've just checked Super Mario Kart), only Super Metroid is missing a few languages for some reason.

To any of the European's who grabbed Earthbound, does it still have all the weird seizure-edits, like the darkened screen and the blur on PSI attacks? I was really hoping for just a straight port.

So it is already out? Gonna check it later then just saw the pics with japanese words and figured this wasn't coming until later lol
Yeah, SMW, Pilotwings, and F-Zero are out in the US. (Supposed to mirror the SNES' US launch lineup).

IIRC, EarthBound, Mario Kart and I think Donkey Kong Country come out tomorrow.

I've been playing them on emulators for years. Why is it so special for the 3ds?

I was under the impression that there was some sort of copyright infringement on the original release.

I recall it was regarding the OST.

Huh? That was what everyone assumed held it back from a VC release. That story died when it did get released almost 3 years ago. Erase it from your brain. :)

don't confuse people.

there's no such thing with these.

Talking about this, iirc there's absolutely no PAL game on 3DS NES VC (european eShop)?
Guess they realized the 3DS couldn't output 50Hz anyway so it would result in jerky framerate and such.
Of course they should have noticed that it's also the case on Wii U...

Yeah all the NES and SNES games are perfect on the 3DS as well as the GB and GBC games. As the GG games are M2 I assume those are too.
Considering it's the first handheld to offer VC they got off to a great start.
