US - PSN FLASH SALE

Lol, they forgot to change the banner on the main screen:

Grabbed the Capcom Collection and installed it through the PS3. Considering I haven't turned on the PS3 in months the updates weren't as much of a pain in the ass as I was fearing. $2 for SF2, SF2 CE and SF2 HF on the go is a pretty damn. Knights of the Round is icing on the cake.

Seriously wtf? There are a whole wack of PS classics for 99 cents.

Maybe it's a terrible sale on PS4, but I'm walking away with Fatal Frame 1,2,3 and Silent Hill for less than $5.
Some people just forget about prior gens too easily, though he kind of warned us by linking to PS4 then whole list.

And yeah, it's weak on PS4, but for... Literally every other PlayStation it's a great sale.

This man knows. Knights of the round (and Strider 2 - which is really good albeit short) was one of my friends and I favorite multiplayer game growing up! Still holds up well. It's all about the start of stage battle cries!

No Bloodborne dlc? I'll keep waiting then.

I don't remember the other Souls DLCs getting much of a price drop, if they even got one at all (did Dark Souls 2 DLCs ever get a drop? I think I saved $5 tops on Dark Souls 1 DLC) so I imagine you'll be waiting forever, especially if you expect a significant drop.

I only have 2.47$ in my wallet. I will buy Fatal Frame 2 and 3 for sure. The only other games I'm interested in are Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded (for the GnG games) and Monster Monpiece. Are they worth it?

What a boring flash sale. I already pretty much own everything I would have wanted to buy from picking it up in previous flash sales.

I guess all those repeates are great for people who missed out on the first time though. Can't really complain too much when I'm waiting for a repeat on the Atelier plus games since I didn't really have the money to pick them up the last time they went on sale

Bought Flow and The Swapper on sale. I was considering Strider but I passed since it seems like it's just alright and I already got a huge enough backlog.

Yeah, I might have bought more old gen stuff, but I'm looking to retire my PS3. (not sell it, just retire). Having a TV with only 2 hdmi ports makes it a pain to use.

Anyway, picked up Ride, MotoGp 14, and Peggle 2 - all for PS4. Ride is a lot better than its demo suggests. Not amazing, but its fun. MotoGp's controls feel a bit smoother, particularly the lean mechanics, but its a bit bland graphically. Peggle is Peggle. If a bunch of content is tucked beneath dlc, I should be able to get my buck-fourty-nine's worth anyway.

Double dipped on the PS4 version of Strider 'cause I started playing on the PS3 just before I got my PS4 and got sidetracked by other games.

Also grabbed Steamworld Dig.

Pretty lackluster sale, but glad I grabbed those two.

I've heard there's not much farming, is that the main reason it's bad? I know Frontier was love it or hate it due to Runeys, but what's this one's problem?

Just curious, huge fan of the handheld series but haven't tried either console version

Farming may as well have been completely removed, the golem battles are long, slow, and tedious, ocean exploration is boring, the dungeons aren't well designed, and the over-the-shoulder viewpoint isn't well implemented, making you yearn for the isometric viewpoint of it's predecessors.

The only thing this game has over previous Rune Factory games is improved combat... In fact, you can almost hear the echos of the board room meeting.... "This is our first Rune Factory on a non-nintendo system. What should we do different?" "Sir, I suggest we put more emphasis on combat while maintaining all of the prev...." "Yes yes! More combat, cut back on everything else to make the deadline."

prince of persia games are 1.49

which one to buy?

Sands of Time and The Two Thrones are the good ones. But looks like SoT isn't on the sale, so The Two Thrones. Thing is tho, I wouldn't recommend playing it before SoT. Avoid Warrior Within, that game took some serious missteps and it isn't important to the narrative.

Yeah, this is a great sale for PS3. I've picked up

Fatal Frame I-III
Strider 2
Silent Hill
Castlevania Chronicles
R-Type Dimensions
Soldner-X 2
Soldner-X 2 The Last Chapter

and will probably get Strider on PS4. But I still need to know: Does Final Fight Double Impact still have the online DRM? The description doesn't mention it, but I don't know if it ever did.

I never played a Fatal Frame game... Which one should I start with?

Oh man. I could own all these Rayman and Fatal Frame games for just a couple bucks.

So tempting.

Get.......

NOW XD!

I'm serious; the Rayman games are some of the best platformers you could play while Fatal Frame is renounced as amazing horror games (three bucks for all three PS2 games O_O?! Day one XD).

Ended up getting:

Silent Hill
Castlevania Chronicles
Pac Man World
Rayman 3
Fatal Frames 1 through 3

For under $10. Not bad. These sales are pretty good for catching up on some PS1 and PS2 classics.

I'm itching for some Prince of Persia too... I'll probably grab Two Thrones and/or Forgotten Sands as I never played those.

I assume PS3 versions >>> PSP versions?

Fatal Frame games for 1 dollar and here in Europe those are not even available on the store.
What great deals compared to Eu PSN.
SCEE is garbage.

Ironically, it might be the reverse XD!

The PS3 versions reportedly have bad sound mixing issues and poor performance (not sure though).

The PSP versions of the Prince games are all strong titles:
-Rival Swords: Two Thrones port with some extra content. Visuals look a bit muddy and frame rate less consistent but a nice portable version of a great action/platformer. Controls really well too!
-Revelations: Warrior Within port with smoother frame rate over Rival Swords and better visuals. Same exact game as Warrior Within though, so its just a portable version of the tittle.

Forgotten Sands is a really interesting best, as in many ways, it was the Sonic Generations of the Prince series.

You have four different games each covering a sector of the franchise:
-PS3/360/PC: Sudo-Sequel to Sands of Time with classic 3D gameplay and a slightly larger focus on combat. Great game and well worth your time.
-Wii: Sudo-Sequel to Sands of Time using a lot of core mechanics from Prince of Persia 2008 due to the Wii version being built of the foundation of a scrapped PoP 2008 sequel. Very great game and one of the better third party games on the platform but puzzles are a bit annoying :l.
-PSP: 2D Prince of Persia adventure that has some mechanics from the console games but overall is a fun 2D Prince game :).
-DS: 2D Prince game modeled after the DS version of PoP 2008; touch screen controls and mechanics using swiping. Never played this one so cannot comment.

I own three of the four versions of this game and highly recommend the PS3 and PSP games :D.

Wow, thanks a lot for the in-depth explanation! I'll probably go PS3 for Forgotten Sands, and I want to track down the Wii version too now! I loved PoP 2008 and I have a pretty big Wii collection, so this sounds like a nice hidden gem to add to it.

For Two Thrones, I'll probably flip a coin to decide between PS3 or PSP. :P

Happy to help :). Love the Prince of Persia series, so I can talk a lot about it XD!

Looking for reviews on Let's Sing 2016. Does it use your cellphone as a microphone like Singstar? What about the ps4 camera? I've heard disappointing reviews that after your done with all the songs in the game that's it. I'm surprised the game didn't recieve dlc that singstar does.

Basically, if I don't use the $10 on this game I'll use it on Assault on Android Cactus before that loses it's discount BUT if I miss out on that sale that game only goes up $5 where Let's Sing goes up $30 so I'm more tempted on Let's Sing if reviews are good. I really like singstar. I don't have a mic anymore but I'm sure I could get one cheap.

Bought Giana Sisters and got Rayman (one) as well, just in case I ever feel like replaying that. Umming and ahhing over those bike games but I've never played one before so not sure how to choose between the two (and driveclub) or whether to just stick to cars - I mean, DiRT Rally is out in a couple weeks after all.

It's all gorgeous style over substance. Very repetitive combat and awful platforming. Levels go on and on.

This echoes my thoughts. Could be amazing but levels go on for so bloody long that you're sick of them well before the end. Also levels are full of collectibles and they have "points of no return" which occur without warning, which is very very irritating considering how long it takes to replay them.
