It's not a balance patch, but it is removing various OS' & changing specific parts of the nature of how intricate mechanics currently work (like tech throwing) in order to do so. They're even adding 1 more startup frame on jump back in order to target an OS. Adding a new character into the mix also changes the character balance.

It's not a character rebalance at all, but there are enough gameplay changes hitting here in the March Update that I am sure they can't properly predict all of the potential fallout from, fallout that they don't want overshadowing their first premiere events.

Remember, there are a few other things being introduced here than just Alex + 8 player lobbies + the shop. Honestly, the frustration from the community is one born from a lack of proper communication on Capcom's part. They should've given us an exact timeline on when to expect it this month. They probably feel showing Alex & showcasing the update prior to it launching undermines the CPT Premere events, so they are waiting until these two consecutive events are cleared before delivering it. I'm hoping Capcom gets better at this stuff as time goes forward.

I'll take your word for it,but since they plan on a character each month I was just thinking that they can just separate the character from the update.

Let me just say this, Daigo made top 3 in 3 different games at single SBO. Only player in history to do that.

I imagine each character & update has their own pipeline they are developing towards that are all built off one another. For example, there is a build that has all the march update stuff plus guile & whatever else they are currently deving to put into the April Update that we haven't even thought of yet. I mean, a few features that were initially promised for March got pushed into a nebulous month, after all.

They just lock down the content they do plan on having in a particular update & label it for that month, then test/retest/submit that build as they go forward.
