Dark Souls III in English is now available on the Xbox One after buying on JP store

The only thing they could do is lock us out of the English version until April release right? There's not way they could ban your account or anything.
 
I give up on trying to buy anything. All it does is send me in loops when I try to buy these stupid xbox live cards on the microsoft store

No one has ever been banned for buying games from another region's store on the Xbox One and they're not going to start now

Yeah, they're not going to release the game early guys (this is one obvious reason) retailers in the West don't have their copies yet. And releasing digital ahead of retail is a huge no-no for business relations. Can't release PC version early either, console players would be apoplectic.
 
Well, this is probably a very awkward situation for Bandai Namco. I get that there are game leaks and street dates broken all the time in the games industry, but a full release game available on the Xbox Store almost a month before release?!? This is total bullshit for those who have been waiting for the actual release date, especially those of us who are trying not to spoil elements of the game. I was fine with the game going to select Streamers and Youtube peronalities and the games press in general, but with this there is no way to hold an NDA on any of the content now. In addition, what about the other Platforms Sony/Steam/etc? This is definitively an issue that could potentially lead to a loss of sales for them. What a mess.

Congrats to Xbox One users, I guess...
and a big fuck you to everyone else :(
 
Quick question:

I'm planning on trying this in a little while today, but I already have DS3 preordered digitally on the US store. Will that screw anything up? Or will I just have 2 DS3s on my app list?
 
Welp, looks like todays activities have been determined.

How big is the game?

The answer lets me know if ill be playing today or when it finishes downloading tomorrow.

game is officially released in Japan. you're buying in JPN store with JPN MS points. they can't lock you out of anything.
 
Some questions..
1. For anyone that does this will we be getting patches from Japan or just the normal US patches as if we just had a normal US copy?
2. Will buying the season pass/DLC from the US store work fine with this version?

Goto your Amazon.co.jp account and click the manage address book option, then add a japanese address. Once you add one then you can pick it from that drop down box it gives you.

There couldnt have been any nda on content after it was released in japan anyway
 
I appear to have been shafted.

Bought the codes on Amazon.jp

Now it's asking me to sign in again to access my orders (fair enough), but it keeps saying my password is incorrect. I have now reset it three times and everytime I do it says it's incorrect. Can't access the codes.

Literally robbed ;_;

I just bought 4x 2000 yen cards. It gave me the redemption codes at check out.
