According to the new issue of the National Enquirer, Republican political operatives are investigating rumors that Texas senator Ted Cruz has had extramarital affairs with at least five different women.

Courting the evangelical vote, Cruz presents himself as a deeply Christian man—despite the fact that he does not properly tithe. “I will readily admit that I have not been as faithful in this aspect of my walk as I should have been,” he told the Christian Broadcasting Network earlier this year.

If he admits to this, his campaign is over. If he doesn't admit to this and some or all of them women do, his campaign is over. So the only way this doesn't tank things for him immediately is if he and all the named women deny the story and sue the Enquirer.

It's weird. This time last year, I was talking to a former county Republican chair for Texas and 2012 Bachmann supporter and he said "I expect John Kasich will be the Republican nominee" and I kinda rolled my eyes... but if Cruz does down then the no-trumpers only have Kasich left.

Hell, even beyond that, that this is coming out only now after only Trump and Cruz are still in the running is a god send for Trump. Otherwise Rubio may have still been in the running.
