Has cruz released a statement?

Yes

and then Trump responded to him

I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.

Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.

I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

- Donald J. Trump

I dont think Hillary is remotely immune to attack if she tries to burnish her credentials as an advocate for women victimized or repressed by men. Especially if her husband goes out on the stump.

Already out there and has been for a while. It needs to be new news to potentially ruin a candidate. I am pretty sure the Republicans have already hit her on this point.

Yeah. Anyone who thinks Clinton has seen anything remotely approaching this level of warfare is kidding themselves. The GOP had lots of attacks, but they have generally been all terrible ones. Trump actually knows what the hell he is doing, and he has the Wall Street / NYC connections most republicans wouldn't.

I suspect Trump has a copy of the Goldman Sachs speech transcripts, for starters.

Christopher Hitchens was railing against the Clintons for years, especially the Clinton Foundation and its umm, questionable financing. The Clintons will accuse Trump of having Mafia connections through his buildings and Trump will bring up their history of taking bribes through their Foundation.

People have short memories. If she goes the war on women route you can guarantee the 90's attacks on Bills accusers are coming back in a big way.

Trump is the tougher opponent because he's unpredictable and has done much better than expected. Cruz is the mainstream GOP candidate seen time and time again except the big wigs don't like him and he's an outsider. In any event, supporters sell him as a serious thinker and a principled guy. Virtually everything that comes out of his mouth is diarrhea and unserious. Like Paul Ryan, Newt Gingrich, and the rest.

Plus, he craps on women and racial/ethnic minorities to boot arguably worse than Trump which kills him in the GE. If I was a GOP supporter, then I would recommend the guy who's going to make America great again and take my chances for something unexpected happening.

Donald Trump's unfavorables are so bad, even (or especially) in comparison to Ted Cruz's. Mormons, women, degreed individuals, black folks, Latino/a folks, etc. all have made up their mind on him already. Nothing is really going to change that.

I also, at the risk of someone claiming "hindsight is 20/20," don't see Trump's success as very surprising. The party had primed their voters for this sort of thing by stoking racial and gender animus for fifty years and pairing it with Reagonomics. The GOP was giving signs that it was weak as far back as 2008 when guys like Mike Huckabee were winning caucuses, and it was definitely a warning sign in 2012 when establishment favorite Mitt Romney had to fend off people like Gingrich, Cain, and Bachmann.

The mistake everyone made was thinking that the Republican Party was strong enough to smooth over the friction within its own base.

I give Donald Trump all the credit in the world for being politically savvy enough to exploit the weakness of the GOP, but getting 35% of 47% of all voters in a primary season where you have to rush to the right to capture the hearts and minds of the True Believers is absolutely nothing like having to win 49% of 100% of the voting public in a general election.

Sure, but she already tried to go at Trump for sexism and being part of the "war on women" and he was able to defang that line of attack almost immediately.
Trump has zero chance if Clinton is allowed to successfully frame the election narrative as a choice between a champion of women and feminism versus a misogynist pig.

Twice. Once about him owning the same kind of shoes that left prints at the murder scene, a second time about him writing the book If I Did It.
Damn. I dunno how to feel. On one hand they got some bombshell stuff correct but on the other they do peddle nonsense like Obama having an affair or some shit. Really dont know if this is true. 5 mistresses is crazy high number though.

This was a rumor that had been going around before this. NE were just the first to actually print it.

One of Cruz's super PAC gave $500k to Carla Fiorina's Super PAC run by his mistress, Sarah Isgur Flores. This sounds like hush money being paid out.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news.../?postshare=9641458877974512&tid=ss_tw-bottom

Yeah, this looks bad. The PAC's reasoning reads even worse:

"Keep the Promise I made the donation in June to Ms. Fiorina at that time because we thought she had important things to say that weren't being heard, including her poignant and effective criticism of Mrs. Clinton, at the time, the likely Democratic nominee," Kellyanne Conway, president of Keep the Promise I told CBS News in an email.

"However," she added, "We are all in for Ted Cruz for President, as our current activities demonstrate, and will continue to support him and his message all the way to the White House."

Boy, this is going to be a true shit storm.

What kind of super pac is called "Keep the Promise I made"? Is this supposed to be something only Cruz and his mistress would understand?

That trump statement is art

This is like his initial statements about cruz not being eligible while couching it as if he hoped he was.

People were saying Cruz looks like the Zodiac Killer, little did they know that 5 women not only didn't want to punch that face but actually slept with him.

Quick Cruz, turn this into a positive!

LOL

Trump wants to put Muslims in a database. I don't think you can make Cruz worse than Trump. Keep trying I guess. They are both pitiful people.

Trump: At the end of the day, we can't have people dying in the streets.
Cruz: Why not?

I remember something to this effect.
