Just tried it out for an hour, this is surprisingly polished for Nintendo's first mobile app. Bodes well for their future stuff. I keep laughing at the hilarious responses people leave to questions.

There is a fix on XDA, install xposed framework and use rootcloak, apply the miitomo fix and whala, it works.

Thanks for the info but it still seems to crash on boot. Happening to a lot of people that don't even have phones rooted. Hope they get on this quick.

Looks like I'm out. Not going to keep wasting time trying to get this trash to work. I have a "new" phone (model released 7 months ago, bought it 2 months ago), running Android 5.0.2, NOT rooted... keeps shutting down. XDA thread is no help, because my phone isn't rooted. Basically Nintendo is forcing me to root my phone in order to install an app to bypass the root-block on a not rooted phone.
