That was my reaction to Vive DK1. Can't wait to see the changes and play some more games with the consumer version.

Just got the email and I'M STILL BEING TOLD I CAN'T UPDATE MY FUCKING INFO.
IT EVEN TELLS ME TO USE THE OPPORTUNITY TO UPDATE TO PAYPAL.
EDIT: They are telling me that it will attempt to run one more time tomorrow (this email was to prompt me to call my bank and tell them ahead of time to see if that will clear), and then when it doesn't clear, I'll get an email that at THAT time will allow me to update to Paypal. (Aka if you still have trouble).
I seriously hope so. I really hope so.

Noooo that's separate from the communication bluetooth connection but I think i actually have targeted the lighthouses too. That explains a lot.

I stopped following the Oculus thread, but I know you posted about being unhappy about something, perhaps the shipping or something. But my question, do you have a Rift or still getting a Rift? It would be nice to have some Gaf impressions of both and comparisons of both.

Well, I should be in the first wave for both of them, but who knows anymore what that even means for actual shipping in Europe with Oculus.

I'm still getting one but it'd honestly be pointless to keep it when the Vive can do the same thing and even more. The exclusives aren't worth $600 to me.

Well, I have not tried anything VR and I don't want to put my feet into both of them. I just want to one that is the best. Software will evolve and get better for both, but I am just curious which headset is the best performance/tech wise etc. To me that is what it is most likely going to come down to is which headset is best in regards to the headset itself. I know the Vive has the motion controls, but I know those are coming to the Rift as well.
I just read that Durante is also getting both, so if you decide to still get the Rift and use it, I would love both of yours impressions of the headset itself and quality of the lenses, resolution and/or any issues such as screen door effect of haloing etc.
My Rift is on pre-order but I am way down the list and I am thinking about June, so I have time to cancel on go a different route as well. I primarily followed the Rift, but want to be open minded and just get the best headset.

I'm getting both as well and will provide as detailed a write up as possible. I also have games that will run on both, so would make for a proper apples-apples conparison.
If only I knew when my Rift would arrive... seems totally up in the air right now
I'm really happy this showed up and I'll get to try it.
It's one of the demos they have shown off previously which got rave reviews, and they are also seemingly expanding it with lots of new scenarios.

Thanks I appreciate it. The both sound like quality products, but a good apples to apples comparison with the same games would really give some good insight as to which one has the better lenses and less issues. Hope you get them both soon!

I got charged yesterday and haven't gotten anything yet. I'm also only two hours from where it will ship, so they could ship it Monday ground and still get it to me Tuesday. Amazon does that all the time with shipments from Indy to my location to save money.
