Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

At this point are we ever getting Skyrim

The only other thing I have that Skyrim is on is a PS3 and the PS3 Skyrim version sucks
A remaster is more likely since they have already ported the game to Xbox One.

It's only a matter of time before they release it.

I just had one crash on my entire playthrough, the second time you visit the observatory.

My crashes happened shortly after restoring the power for the drive-in. Cloud saving didn't work after that. I've finished the game and the only thing I'd like to play now is Quantum Break. Two days left, two days left.

One thing I found strange about Alan Wake is why they chose Ilkka Villi as the actor and Matthew Porretta as the voice for Alan Wake. Did they really want Ilkka Villi's likeness, but he didn't sound American enough, so they decided to get a fitting voice? Are there any interviews on this stuff?

Nothing from Major Nelson yet.

Is it just showing up in your ready to install?

Yeah, though I've been hearing it's been available for some time? I think the reason I never had it before is because I had the old Activision published version instead of the newer, Bethesda published title.

I've decided to start sorting out transferring stuff from my 360 to my XB1. However after moving saves to Cloud storage, how do I then transfer those from Cloud to my harddrive on XB1? I can sync with the cloud just fine, but I want the saves on my XB1; not the Cloud. They're safer on my XB1, and I also can't use that save data if I'm offline.

I would say you need to start the game once and load the savegame on your xbox One. Then a local copy will be saved on your harddrive.

They're saved locally when you select cloud storage for your saves. All it's doing is giving you a way to go back and forth between your 360 and X1.

But every time I start Dark Souls, it asks me to select the source of the save data, and I have to choose Cloud storage every time. It doesn't seem like the save data is on my XB1.

EDIT: Weird; I just switched my XB1 to offline, and when I started up Dark Souls, the only source I could select a save from was Cloud, which is said was "Offline". But I was still able to select it and access my save files. Bot sure what's going on. I'm hoping that the save data is indeed on the XB1, and it's just "incorrectly" trying to search in the Cloud when not necessary.

"Cloud" is just the name of the storage. It doesn't mean the saves are strictly in the Cloud, they're always cached locally. But since it's still saved online as well, when you're connected it checks to make sure newer versions of your saves haven't been uploaded from another Xbox.

I missed out on Dead Space for whatever reason last gen. I was focused on other games when it released, Battlefield: BC, Fallout 3, Fable II and just brushed Dead Space aside despite the praise I had heard and read.

What a brilliant game so far. Just finished Chapter 3 and the RE4 gameplay combined with God-tier atmosphere and a legitimate scary setting have me hooked.

Not sure how it ran on 360 but the game looks and plays beautifully with no frame rate dips that I've noticed.

I may push my Quantom Break purchase a week because I'm so engrossed in Dead Space and want to devote most of my gaming time till I beat it.

Seeing so many people discover Dead Space recently makes me so happy. If was my first real experience with horror games and I absolutely adored it. Hope Dead Space 2 becomes backwards compatible soon!

Also, Microsoft/Capcom hurry up and make the DMC Collection backwards compatible.

When it was released, I initially wrote off Dead Space due to it being an EA game, but a friend told me "It's Resident Evil 4 in space", and thatbwas enough for me to try it. I'm so glad I did, as it's one of my favouritr franchises of the last generation. 3 was a misstep (but still enjoyable), though 1 and 2 are sublime. 2 is probably the best one though. It strikes the perfect balance between action and horror.

On my first playthrough of Dead Space, I got the achievement for using only the Plasma Cutter. I didn't even touch any of the other weapons, as I felt like the Plasma Cutter was just such a great weapon.

Alan Wake, take flght or flight,
On this cold and weary night.
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Dispel the darkness with your flashlight.

If you want I have a code for American Nightmare, so you'll be rewarded for this beautiful poem hahahah

Would be nice if they found a solution to the 360 store eventually. So in 20 years we can easily buy "vintage" games with our Xbox Overlord Credits :)

the whole issue reminds me of background music.

xbox one launches with snap. snap sucks. it also doesnt allow background music.
now we still dont have it, but with more functionality being built into the guide in past updates (achievements being the newest) im gonna bet the reason background music is done yet is because that ability is being built right on top of the dash now to run right there.

basically, not planning ahead very well. 360 store is a mess, obviously. but they are trying to fix it at least
