As a lapsed Final Fantasy fan, I really want to love this. Help me Game Informer. You sold me on the series with your FF9 review back in the day.

Also, despite my issues with lots of things in the game, the enemy designs are fantastic.

Ive noticed in all the new gameplay footage, that there is a heavy amount of missing shadows...
It looks quite bad

The framerate really took a tumble in this snippet I really hope they get a handle on that and on the IQ.

I'm afraid this game is too ambitious for the hardware, especially with SE as the developer.

I'm unfortunately expecting huge but pretty static and empty environments with bad image quality, maybe suffering from frame-rate drops in cities.

It's an absolutely massive game made a developer whose strongest suite isn't graphical wizardry. It won't look and run like for example The Witcher 3.

Maybe Luna's dog is a regular dog but honestly who knows ;P

The only other dogs that I can think of are Interceptor (FF6) and Angelo (FF8), neither of which would make much sense next to Fenrir.

FFXV has the blandest character designs in the entire series imo. Who on earth thought cladding everyone in black would be a good idea?
There's just something off about the way everyone looks.

Except Noctis doesn't look like a mafia type of character. He looks like someone that should be on stage with Gackt singing cheesy romantic J-pop.

I'm sorry you don't like the way the game looks.

I think they are pulling off the "modern Tokyo meets fantasy world" look they are going for quite deftly.

I think there's potentially some relationship.

Luna is stated to be from Tenebrae, and both the references to the crown in the most recent trailer and the fact that she was betrothed to the royalty of another nation (Noctis) suggests, in my mind, that she is either of that nation's (now deposed) royal line or closely related to it; moreover, in old trailers, the still yet-to-be-unveiled blonde antagonist character has a Fenrir insignia on his arm. Given the historic connection between Fenrir and darkness, and the name of Tenebrae being related to darkness, it makes me think that Luna and the hooded character are potentially related, and also related in some way to Fenrir.

Makes me think of something reminiscent of a Char/Sayla situation, for those acquainted with Gundam.

Just my musings. Could be totally off base, of course. But, I mean, where there's smoke, there's fire; in Final Fantasy, where there's a wolf, there could very well be Fenrir!

And, I mean, there are some obvious similarities...

It seems like they really are going ahead with the Hold Button To Attack thing. Too late to change stuff that fundmental now. Even if they change it to Press, its not gonna change how combat essentially plays out.

So weird. Hope I get used to it.

At first I was extremely bothered by holding aspect as well. Then the options opened, I rarely find myself just holding at all. You will know once you give the demo more time and find the hidden weapons, use charging attack, use the aerial combat more and so on.
