Giant Bomb Vive stream | What a Time to Be a Vive!

Between will's VR face picture and the gifs that are going to come from that he's doing well for himself becoming the face of VR.

For serious though with his new product he could be.

Trust me, there is nothing more hilarious in VR thus far than being in VR and watching a friend tell you they are going to screw with the inverse kinematic model by screwing up the tracking or using impossible poses. It's that much funnier because in VR you get convinced when the modelling is good enough, that that is that person.

On the other hand - it is absolutely terrifying to see that happen to someone in VR and you have no warning. It's just a total shock to the empathy you have with that person / associating that model with a real person.
 
They have to leave that in Foo forever. They should just own it, like when guests "leave" they all crumple into boneitis mode. That was goddamn hilarious.
 
Just tuned in starting when they were playing Budget Cuts. What have their general impressions of the Vive (compared in the Oculus)?

Jeff seemed pretty blown away when he was trying to lean on counters and walls that weren't there.

I'm about 5 hours into the stream, they seem to like it a hair more?

I dont know, both of these streams have completely turned me off VR, definitely cancelling my PSVR preorder.

This stuff looks like it works, but not my speed (and not fun, frankly).

Imagine in the farish flung future where VR is normal for long distance communication. You are VR-Skyping with your Mother on her 90th birthday and just after saying goodbyes she implodes, then stretches out for eternity before her head starts to tumble into the ground.

"AAAAAAAH MOM ARE YOU OK!?"
"What was that dear? I can't hear you because I don't have my goggles on."

They're a lot more positive on the Vive mostly due to the controller and there being some better software.

Yep! The Budget Cuts guys still describe that as "very early in development", so I'll be really curious to see what it looks like when it finally comes out. Helluva demo right now, though.


Alright, gotta drive home. Looks like they'll still be streaming when I get there.
 
I kinda hope PS VR will release earlier in the US so I can watch the stream and base my decision on that on whether I want to keep my pre-order or not. So far everything's nice but nothing is worth 500€+ for me.
 
So after nearly an entire work day of them goofing on the Vive, are they still digging it? (Been unable to watch) This morning when they started the excitement was infectious and they clearly were all having a great time.

How has it been since? Starting to dip into Oculus feelings as the mounds of minigames pile on? Or still beaming with the use of touch and room positioning?
