It's a spin-off so they can try new things like this. Episode 8 will be the Star Wars we are used to again. But I'm glad they are shaking things up with the other movies.

Well, it's all one universe, so they probably want some continuity there even if you can tell completely different stories. Still, Star Wars probably has a fairly unique style to it, so I was just wondering how it will do in contrast. I'm not saying this movie is completely different, either! Uhm did it? I guess it could be, it felt a bit different to me. I'm really liking the action and the slightly older technology that fits with the timeline though.
All I'm not liking is the edgy "chin down eyes up" acting that showed up a few times during the trailer.
