As someone who isn't really following Dark Souls 3, it's kind of bonkers to me that this hasn't been released yet, as I feel like I've practically seen the entire game all over the internet by this point.

Welcome to quite possibly the shittiest release schedule in modern gaming. The game has been out in Japan for 3 weeks, and streamers have had copies to make ridiculous amounts of content from for the same amount of time.

This wouldn't be that important if it was some low-budget indie game, or a multiplayer FPS or Rocket League or something. It's Dark Souls and discovery is a huge part of the game, so spoils suck even more than usual.

They mentioned 24-48 hours before release is typical.

I ordered The Division from them last month and got my key the Thursday or Friday before release.

I use a Samsung PCIE NVME M.2 stick and it takes for ever. Not much out there faster than that.

That doesn't sound right. What CPU do you have? XCOM 2 (25GB) took me less than 10 mins to unpack on my Samsung 850 EVO and 2500k @ 4GHz.
