Titanfall 2 Teaser, full reveal June 12th at EA Play at 1PM PT, PC/XB1/PS4

Which is great. Titanfall feels amazing to handle and I attribute that a lot to the source engine.

Hopefully it was launching on 360 that held it back because the Source engine, despite it being heavily modified, was still not pushing out anything that good looking or feature rich.

Why in the hell would you need grappling hooks in Titanfall? You can wallrun virtually anywhere. Please, Respawn, don't go MW2 on us again and add a bunch of shit. Titanfall is perfect because it's so balanced.

I got a strong Avatar vibe from the jungle setting. Didn't one of the earlier leaks about this game mention something about magic?

came here with the same question. Can't watch the video though.

I liked the beta of the first game but I didn't get the feeling of it being something I'd get at full price, and by the time it was on sale it was long dead on PC. But they definitely have a chance to make the kind of game I'd be excited for. Which shouldn't be very hard because giant robots.

Hear me out

This game died VERY QUICKLY on XB1 and PC. Does it really have a big following to care about a sequel? I mean, I don't doubt EA can generate hype, but you kill it with stuff from Mass Effect, BF5(Bad Company 3?), more Star Wars, and possibly a new Dead Space announcement.

Server browser is the make or break. Origin not really.

As foolish as it sounds, the vast majority of people can be bothered with Origin. Steam is to PC was PS4 is to consoles: the lead service with the greatest community. Unless EA put it in their contracts again, and Respawn was desperate enough, it is an incredibly stupid decision.

To be clear, Im there day NOW for the game. I just want all my friedns to be on it too, and the vast majority do not want to sign up for a whole new service for one game.

Unless you're talking about Battlefront DLC, there will not be a new Star Wars titles this fiscal year.

Dead Space is also dead.

There may not be anything coming out in terms of Star Wars, but announcements are possible. Dead Space is dead? Like, define dead. Visceral isn't going to make another ever again type of dead, or we just haven't heard anything in years kind of dead?

Tell that to Battlefield. Battlefront died because of no server browser and lack of content. Same with Titanfall. Not because it was on Origin.

Battlefield is rather successful on PC despite being on Origin.

PC died quickly but XB1's population hold itself for a little over a year, and yes it has more than 10 million players
that have seen Titanfall
. The first game suffered from content drought, but it was a scrapped together game straight out of 3 year development hell, now that they put all the engine debates and lawsuit behind there is no shackle on Respawn to deliver what they originally have in mind.

Everyone who was making Dead Space is now on Star Wars and/or Battlefield instead.

Ok, so they're just busy with other things. New Deadspace announcement in the next yar or two, probably unlikely, but not completely out of the question. Would love to see Dead Space on Frostbite.

Confirmed by whom?

By a trusty source

The first was multiplatform and neither the studio nor IP are owned by EA.

It was on Azure because they were working with Azure already (AI etc stuff) before EA picked them up.
So EA couldnt do much. Now with Titanfall 2 they are there from the beginning. No way its going to be on Azure even if i really want it to.

Uh.. no it didn't. It's by far my most played game this gen and there are always thousands of people any time I log on.

Does titanfall 1 still belongs to MS?

I could be great a Titanfall 1+2 package for PS4.

TF belongs to MS but further it does not make any sense to release it as a package deal for PS4 since it is an online only game thus it would hurt the TF2 userbase. Respawn might certainly bring back some of the old maps if it makes sense.

Doesn't it use Azure for the bot AI? Or at least I recall them saying it would before launch.

There's a profile on Respawn about them using Azure for their first game: http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/10/titanfall-cloud-explained/
I already read these links but...

When EA servers goes down you can't play Titanfall, Battlefield 4, Hardline and others EA games using EA servers.

I guess it uses the same servers that EA uses for others games.

BTW you can use MS cloud servers for development and use your own servers after that... not AI and others things can be done in EA cloud servers too.

I loved Titanfall, I bought it for the 360, the Xbox One, and the PC. I will happily buy Titanfall 2 (probably on the PS4).

Player count is still decent on the Xbox One for those worried about a lack of interest.

Battlefield is rather successful on PC despite being on Origin.

Server browser was never an issue. Lack of content at launch was, despite the updates later on. And battlefield was a long established franchise with a todal wave of hype and day one sales. You think it was a coincidence that EA launched Origin with it as its leading exclusive?
Well, in any case, it can only help the game for it to be released on Steam. More exlusive customers.
Can shinobu shed some light on this? Or even someone from Respawn directly?

That looked amazing, but if it goes the Call of Duty route and has DLC go first to PS4 (or any platform, really) I will quite honestly be pissed.

I paid full price for the game, full price for the season pass, put in several days worth of time into the first. Absolutely loved it. Respawn turns their back on players like me and it would be incredibly disappointing.

No it really does use Azure. You even can pick wich MS datacenter you want.
Also when there was something down on live it affected Titanfall. For example.

"Microsoft is working to restore Core Services and bring Titanfall X1, X360 & PC servers back online. Updates here:

I'm hoping they push the bot stuff further with this game. I had some lofty ideas for what they could do with them for the first one but they largely turned out way more static than I hoped. There's so much you could do with them if you treat them more like creeps as opposed to just easy bot targets sitting around the map.

So why when EA servers goes down... Titanfall goes too?

Maybe it uses both? One for bot AI (Azure) and other to matchmaking (EA).

I don't think Titanfall runs on Azure.

The fist Titanfall runs on Azure servers but to me that's probably a negative judging from my experience.

I've had more server re-sync on Titanfall (Xbox One) than a COD game on PS4 for example, which is supposed to be p2p. Dedicated servers ? maybe but i didn't have a good experience with them for Titanfall specifically.

Because the original game was on Xbox One which was struggling at the time, and suffered from lack of content, not because the gameplay is bad?

Hmmm, did I ever say otherwise ?
I'm not saying the game was bad, I actually liked it a lot.

I'm just wonderind if the team who made the first will make the second, or if there were massive layoffs and people leaving the studio after Titanfall died.

they did make DLC for it and made it free. They've probably been working on the game since close to the original's release..

Yes but my question was about the team developping Titanfall 2.
Is it the same core dev tem who made the original ? I'm asking because I thought the original in terms of gameplay was really good and would love to see them improve on it.
