I kind of hate this race. These two should be very good friends. Comrades in a good fight. I hate that they are more or less enemies right now.
 
You can not be anti-nuclear and realistically support combating climate change.

I mean you need power at night, which means an excess of solar, and a massive amount of storage, which honestly doesn't exist in any industrial capacity. It will be decades before we figure out large scale energy storage.
 
This is one of Bernie's best debates. He's doing almost everything right.

I love what he had to say about climate change.

Sure, we could, but, you know, we haven't. And as Hillary pointed out, Bernie should know that since he introduced a bill to do better and it didn't pass.

Given that we haven't, why not do the thing that is somewhat better?

At this moment obviously not, but every year wind, solar and battery tech grows cheaper on exponential levels.

A decade from now storage isn't going to be the non-viable situation it is today, expanding natural gas means decades of policy and so on. The world is already installing more renewable energy than carbon based energy for the last two years, we're already on the path forward and it will only accelerate as it grows cheaper and policy is put into place (and it will be put into place as time goes on)

I'm not saying end natural gas, I'm just saying it's not going to completely replace coal.

Renewables are going to eat into coal and natural gas at the same time, it's not going to be Coal-> Natural Gas -> Renewables.

Why are Bernie supporters against people following Obama's policies? He is one of the best president's we've ever had, and I and the vast majority of Democrats would take Obama 3rd term easily

Also it's a bit weird that Hillary is asking for half a billion solar panels and Bernie's only gunning for 10 million rooftops?

Can someone do the math on how many panels 10 million rooftops would be?

I also doubt 10 million rooftops can compensate for the amount of energy he wants to shut down though.
