"If FK doesn't have invincibility and his normals are actually toned down, don't see Guile being as bad for Bison as before lol"

Flash Kick doesn't need invincibility if he still has a solid cr.fierce anti-air and air throw has decent range. It's not a matter of nerfing/buffing, it's just the unfortunate coincidence of Guile's playstyle and moveset dumping on Bison's.

Besides which, FK still seems to have a really good hitbox and was beating jumpins and sometimes buttons in neutral like Nash's Somersaults

Looks like Capcom woke up & finally started doing what they should've done from the start & what they should've done with Alex: Give good advertising on your characters & on your product.

Anyway, sweet trailer of Guile! :)

Lol. I love these trolly dates.

Guile is due in April and they pick the last day.

They did the same with Alex, didn't they?

I do think the match-up will be a lot more interesting in SFV. Bison's absorb is only going to be usable at a pretty long distance, but it does give him a tiny bit of counterplay to getting zoned out so hard by SB. VT is also going to be a big boon here because it allows him to reintroduce stomp & DR a bit compared to the previous "kick me" sign.

I still don't see it as a very easy approach though because as soon as you get anywhere near midscreen on Guile even a tap absorb will probably catch a backfist, and EX boom or V-Skill boom is going to make it a grind.

What I am more interested in is whether Bison's current normals compete better once the space collapses. It kinda looks to me like they won't, which is what'll lopside the matchup overall. Also kind of seems like Guile's damage output is similarly higher overall and I could see Guile bullying him sort of like Nash can behind slow booms. At least in SFV Bison has a better comeback chance and it won't feel like shit is hopeless if you fall behind ~40%.

Non sequitur, but you post so much I had to finally Google your ridiculous avatar to find out where it was from and ended up watching that episode of the X-Files

"Bison can dash through booms as well (not easy to time, just saying)"

Dash through booms and do what? Get punished because Guile's already recovered by the time you start dashing through them?

Bison's going to be in really bad shape in that matchup until he gets some meter to do EX blast or v-reversal if it's a Guile that likes to pressure. That's actually another thing: Once Bison gets a bit of momentum going, Guile's v-reversal will knock him across the screen and reset the match.

I dont get this whole Bison/Guile discussion now. Bison is a completely different character now. He has a V-Skill that reflects and also a Dash that can go through.

Its not going to be played the same way the SF4 matchup was. In that one , Bisons floaty jump was literally the only way to get around.( apart from EX options )

Different games , completely different characters. I dont see why people would need to bring it up.

Bison's total dash time isn't insanely long (22F). You think booms will recover quickly enough that Guile can punish even a predictive dash before Bison can act? (like at a range where dash will put Bison right in front of Guile)

The matchup will definitely not be as lopsided as it was in SF4. With all the tools that bison has now, it's not even a valid argument.

It's decades old lopsided matchup and both characters are now in the game, so it's gonna be brought up.

22 frames isn't that hot for a dash. But really the bigger issue there is that your dash timing has to both match his boom timing and spacing; you can basically only realistically dash through a boom at fairly close distance (probably around df.HP range) where he isn't relying on throwing a boom anyway. A slow boom would probably still clip you in the back at that range too. I think out of all the projectiles in this game your odds of getting paid by dashing through are the lowest against Guile. Seems liable to turn into a mindgame not in your favor.

You can't really dash through projectiles pre-emptively, the invulnerability frames are only during the middle part of the dash. Bison's dash time is actually one of the longest in the game. Even if 22f doesn't sound like a lot, it's still relatively slow compared to others.

I mean this is all speculation without any frame data, of course, but I only see the matchup getting worse from previous games.

He looks great! Although I can't shake the feeling that he looks kinda like a mall cop...

Love the sunglasses though!

Music and stage are probably my favorites so far.

His dash is one of the slowest dashes in the game behind Zangief(25f) and Birdie(23f), but is also the furthest. His jump isn't that bad compared to others with 1 frame slower than the fastest but one of the biggest range.

It's probably going to be an uphill battle but depending on how much health Guile has. Tthe burst damage with V-Trigger might help, but he would still have to build the meter first.

That's a damn good trailer. I'm loving the look of his changes.

Am I going to need to pay for guile with real money or can i used the banked story mode points to unlock him? These currencies are confusing as hell and Im feeling pretty ripped off that he's even a character you have to pay for.
