Its not looking to bad during normal action. It's only when the camera zooms in for supers and post fight are you reminded of CG cutscenes from the first Tekken.

Holy shit ShunEi has airdashes!!! And my god there are sooooo many new characters.
To be honest, backgrounds stood out for me too, but in a good way. Wow, they all look pretty fucking amazing, now.

Once again the ingame looks amazingly fun, just stop zooming in on the characters haha. Looks nice and smooth, backgrounds survived the transition to 3D awesomely. Just give me the Shibuya? walkway stage and something with fireworks and im 100% sold. Character models just seem to be missing a few layers of textures... and lighting?

The story mode in trailer shows EVEN MORE ZOOM INS for in-game characters mimicking Visual Novel style portraits with voiced dialogue... so yeah. Don't expect this to stop, heh.
I think the Esaka stage you're referencing and Neo Esaka are suppose to be the same basic location... but yeah, I'd love to see classic Esaka brought back AGAIN, it can't return too much.

Definitely. I don't think anyone's focused on how much we're seeing with all this yet. Yuri might not be a huge change, but I like the way she looks so far, too (Using a long headband to replace her ponytail it seems.)

If Kyo has an alternate skin, maybe so will Yuri get one with her braid - I mean, if they bothered to give her alternate hair sprite layers in XIII to give her that...
Story mode can be functionally identical to an arcade one, if any story sequences are skippable - the difference wasn't already that big in XIII anyway.
Story fans can jump straign to Story mode and compatitive folk can go straight to Versus, and there are a few other alternative modes, I see no dearth of content based on what they're presenting so far...
That's Alice, although someone posted a rumor today about DLC character that included Mary - I'm not putting a lot of faith into that though, at least for now.

Definitely picking this one up to show my support.
So you've got Kyo and Iori (the two classics), Mai (for the 'no Mai, no buy' crowd), Nakaruru (to represent the 'another world' aspect of the game) and Shun'ei (who I gather is the protagonist for this saga).
Looking promising so far, can't wait!
Still, we should all take a minute of silence our dearly departed Blue Mary.
May she find her peace in unused characters heaven.

Nah, I can see how each one of them would appeal to both the male & female KOF/SNK fanbase. They've always been pretty receptive to their audience.

What a progress leap this game has made. It suddenly looks amazing. Can't wait.
Oh, I "get" it. But it's just a cluttered presentation. I think something like this pulls it off a bit better.
The AoF / FF connection, Good ole Athena complimenting the conflicting movement of Iori and Kyo well, etc. It leaves me feeling like there's a few characters missing to complete the theme they're going for.
Nakoruru doesn't scream "Hey, there's a Samsho chara in KOF, take notice!", it's more like "Hey, she's here... but IORI IS MORE A BIT DEAL! ALRIGHT!"

Nakoruru is also probably the most popular SNK female character in Japan (was the only SNK girl to make the "top female characters of the 90s" list on Famitsu for example)... So makes sense to put her on there.
Also Kyo, Iori, Mai and Nakoruru are all SNK mascot characters to some extent.
