Even better is that Luong is likely repping Vietnam, even though her husband and his student are Korean.
I mean, yeah, it would've been nice to see Heavy, Lucky or Seth, again (or honestly, I'd be more open to a brand new black character). But as far as diversity goes, KOFXIV has probably some of the best "across the board" representation we've seen in fighting games in years. And I'm actually glad to see that a supposed "global" tournament in-universe is doing a better job of showcasing that.

No but really, I've wanted another Great Wall of China stage ever since SFA1. The new stages shown look great. In fact the only ones that don't are the original/arena ones but I'm sure SNK has plans. The new characters look dope, the original nature spirit waifu looks dope, the new characters look dope. Somehow even the training stage looks... classy.
Does that pre-order steelbook come with an art book? Because I want the art book edition.
The game looks good enough for me to enjoy already, but with ~3 months left to polish things up I'm excited to see what they adjust. And of course the netcode and balance will make or break this game.

The game is looking seriously awesome.
-Kyo has been fixed.
-The new protagonist looks pretty damn cool and heavily inspired by DMC/Nero, 'demon boy' indeed.
-Luong is a total babe. Them long legs, that super model walk. One of those instant classic SNK designs.
-It seems there is character specific talk on the character win screen? It sounded like Terry told Luong something about Kim after defeating her.
-K' got two new follow ups to his Trigger, yay. He looks really well done overall.
-Did not expect them just to reveal everyone like that but it really was the smart thing to do now that everyone and their mom knows that the leak is true.
There's a stage list...? Where? Can't find one anywhere so far.

I'll be honest, as a Black Mexican I'm more glad we have Mexican fighters that aren't just Luchadores with the mask they never remove thing. I am completely willing to overlook the lack of African American characters for that reason and the fact that there is such a wide array of characters otherwise.

This would be really sweet as stages are pretty much the most important thing to me when it comes to fighting games.
You can see some of it on the stream after they select characters and choose stages.
So far it looks like each team will have their own stage so there will probably be a minimum of 16 stages for them alone. And another one or two stages for the sub and final bosses.
Speaking of which, anyone found it odd that the conversation between Geese and Terry seemed pretty casual? Could anyone tell what they were saying there?

None of the character with (likely) African ancestry in SNK games (off the top of my head: Michael Max, Duck King, Micky Rogers, Mr Big, Axel Hawk, Bob Wilson, Heavy D!, Lucky Glauber, Seth, Rob Python) are related to each other, why would that apply to Nelson?...
There are a bunch of countries that don't get represented at all (there never has been nor will probably ever be a Portuguese fighting game character
) - while African representation could be better, some of the available characters look like they have enough of that ancestry in their family trees to at least acknowledge a fair portion of the world that had even less representation of previous games of the series.Mian's mask and the performance art it represents are very much from China, and with a team of Chinese protagonists it would make a lot of sense to have at least one chinese antagonist in the Official Invitation team - back in the Orochi saga the Orochi New Face team was lead by a Japanese guy, Yashiro, while the whole anti-Orochi team (Kyo, Iori and Chizuru) was Japanese - it seems like a pattern that's likely to repeat in some way.
They're underexposed, I'll give you that, but I keep seeing comments from people who miss them, so the appeal is clearly out there - it's probably a bit tricky to measure in a way that justifies SNK bringing them back compared to clear protagonists, rivals and marketable women...
That was a pretty weird line in the profile, considering stuff like the old FF endings, and KoF intros with the wedding dress and baby dolls...

For the source games Yes I had a AES system and use to buy my carts from JnL in Chinatown. Kof 98 is my greatest game purchase ever at $330
I did miss Battle Coliseum when it was ported to PS2 from amotswave, I didn't have that system anymore.

KOF14 looks great, definite day 1. Team Geese looks promising. Looking at the DLC roster and if it is true I wish i could unlock them like in SFV :|.
No news about Krauser or Heidern makes me sad.

You said Xrd not Relevator. The history of Atlus published games are pretty bad outside of NIS published ones, which got terminated 10 days ago.
So yeah. Europeans are rightly worried about everything Atlus and Sega publishes.
