It feels early sure, but I would think that the end of July is possible. It would be cool considering both P3 and P4 released in July.
That was never going to happen simply because of the time the countdown ends at. It ends on a Thursday evening while Famitsu would be out hours beforehand, plus Atlus knows about magazine leaks like any other game company so that would spoil the surprise days before.
That would be perfect.

I doubt anyone (aside from maybe a couple) thinks we'll get a US release date here.

This is Atlus we're talking about. Unless they (or rather, their Japanese branch) officially recognize the existance of Europe, I doubt a worldwide release was ever under consideration.
I realized this recently and it feels weird.

The wait between P2EP and P3 was 6 years and had P5 made its original target release year (2014), it would have been 6 years as well.
Asia release (Taiwan, Korea etc) maybe, Sega has been going for that region with Yakuza et al recently.
The game better be a fucking masterpiece.
