Good Non-Kinetic visual novels?

Hey guys what are some good and not kinetic visual novels.

While I can appreciate a good story on it's own merits I sometimes fail to see the purpose of a "game" with no interaction. While I've picked up 1 or 2 I usually feel my time would have been better spent watching an Anime or reading a Manga which tend to be cheaper and more fleshed out. (I can already hear people pointing me to $80+ boxed sets of anime but I only pay a little over $20 a month for Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll which for the most part cover just about any anime I could ever want to watch).

So when it comes to VN's I like lots of choice and interaction even going as far as something like Sakura Wars which on top of constant interaction has frequent RTS battles. The more choice and ability to interact with the game the better.

I'll just get this out of the way I've finished the Dangan Ronpa series. I'm interested in Ace Attorney but haven't picked it up and for some reason 999 and Zero escape just never caught my eye.

As for what I have If it exists on a modern platform I can probably play it (PC, Vita, PS4, Xbox One, Android, and 3DS)

Also, thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What are some non-kinetic titles you have played? So that we don't repeat ourselves.

My repertoire isn't very large which is in part why I'm asking for suggestions. Dangan Ronpa, Sakura Wars V, Katawa Shoujo, and Sunrider Mask or Arcadius (hey it was free) are about it off the top of my head.

Kara no Shōjo definitely. Great story, altough very dark, and beautifully made. It has a lot of adventure elements, with scene exploration and decidig where to go, and those choices affect the outcomes of the plot in big way.

There's tons of point and click adventure games if you go with the West. Day of the tentacle and grim fandango are both excellent and once free with ps plus.

ace attorney might not have you moving around within a game world very often, but you're usually doing things that feel like they have weight and impact, especially during court room scenes. 999 makes a big deal out of multiple endings (there are six), but it also has several challenge rooms to figure out puzzles. virtue's last reward is super about choices you make and has even more challenge rooms. they're all fairly interactive games.

outside of japanese stuff, maybe try life is strange. much like telltale games, your choices don't actually matter, but the game gives you the opportunity to really think about them before you make them your own.

Steins gate and devil on a g string. Grisaia and while I haven't played it myself yet, the recently released root double I hear is good.

Steins;Gate has pretty unique way of presenting ways to diverge the story unlike the usual "choices appear on-screen" most visual novels do. It uses the characters phone and let's you reply to messages or take a call, and that affects what happens in the story. It has a great story too. Maybe try that. You can get it for Vita/PS3 or PC (not on steam yet)

CLANNAD is a classic. I'm not sure if you'll like the high-school setting but it's a very fun read and heartwarming story. It has shitloads of choices and random ends and short routes aside from the main one too that you'd probably be lost without a guide. It's on Steam now.

Grisaia and G-Senjou would be a great read too, though I dunno if that's what you're looking for since you want a lot of choices or interaction

Oh and when you say Kinetic novel it actually means no choices at all and no story branches. You literally just read and click until the end. So most VN's with branching story even if it has 3-5 choices is still not considered a kinetic VN.

I am aware of the bolded.

And thank you for your multiple suggestions I will look into them.

Is it on Steam or another similar platform?

It actually depends what you like, similar to anime.

Some people enjoy ToLoveRu. They will like things like Nekopara or the Sakura Games.

Others like Shounen-Anime. They would like Tokyo Babel.

Some people like mysteries. They might like G Senjou or Root Double.
