OR buy it from itunes.
Since when did iTunes switch to HD videos? Apple Music has HD for the videos on the streaming service, but Beyoncé's self titled album for example was exclusive to iTunes at launch and was sadly only standard def online. It wasn't until she released the Blu-Ray and the singles to VEVO that I saw it in HD.

Idk, but for tv/movies you've had the option to download hd/SD for awhile. It really depends on your preferences in iTunes.

I HAVE self titled on my iTunes in HD. Go check your purchases history or something.

I like the visual album more than the songs themselves. First 4 + Formation are the only ones I like so far. Self-titled seemed to have more singlely songs (Drunk in Love, XO, Mine, Flawless, Pretty Hurts)

That's wny I love Lemonade. As an album it's phenomenal. Her previous albums are too inconsistent. This is a masterpiece.

I haven't seen the visual album yes, but you pretty much just described my opinion lol, except I prefer Freedom, Sorry, 6 Inch, Daddy Lessons.

Eh...too be a masterpiece you still have to have great songs. The Beyonce album had like a lot of great songs, plus a meme all in itself (flawless), as well as hilarious remixes of another song (Drunk in Love). Lemonade is great, awesome material as an album. I have only listened to it once though...hoping it will grow on me.

I just checked and I have always had the HD setting on in Preferences (TV and movies have never been an issue as far back as I remember). Both self-titled and LEMONADE are listed as SD. Went to the store, and the previews for the videos are SD. Re-downloaded a self-titled video, and it is SD. I'm not seeing any HD music videos at all on iTunes.

EDIT: Yeah iTunes doesn't sell music videos in HD, including any videos that come with an album like Beyonce's.

I've got like little to no interest in this type of music but honestly.
I'm kinda strangely intrigued by this album especially some of the collaborations. So I'll be checking it out, hope its got a few tracks I wouldn't mind playing. I like Jack White and I like Diplo and the closest thing to this I listen to is Lana Del Rey so hopefully I'll enjoy it.

Love everything. Even daddy lessons and sandcastles are great to me

We'll see how it holds up as the year goes on

After having listened to the songs over 250 times, this is my ranking:

10/10
- Sorry
- Freedom
- All Night
- Don't Hurt Yourself
- Formation
- 6 inch
- Hold Up

9,5/10
- Pray you Catch Me
- Love Drought

8/10
- Daddy Lessons (sounds 10/10 live tho)

7/10
- Sandcastles

this injustícia at omitting Forward in your rankings

It's short but it's haunting.

6 Inch will be a 10/10 once an enterprising member of the Hive edits out Abel's noise. Until then, Love Drought is my favorite track.

1. PRAY YOU CATCH ME (9/10)
2. HOLD UP (7/10)
3. DON'T HURT YOURSELF ft. Jack White (8/10)
4. SORRY (8/10 - the ending drags a bit, but the song is absolutely infectious)
5. 6 INCH ft. The Weeknd (9/10)
6. DADDY LESSONS (6/10 - the lyrics vacillate between inscrutable and juvenile)
7. LOVE DROUGHT (10/10 - the synths, the bass, the smooth as silk vocal delivery create the most lush atmosphere)
8. SANDCASTLES (6/10 - vocal showcase and little more)
9. FORWARD ft. James Blake (8/10)
10. FREEDOM ft. Kendrick Lamar (8/10 - love the verses, the bridge, and even Kendrick's guest bars, but the chorus succumbs to generic anthem syndrome)
11. ALL NIGHT (9/10 - perfect capper to the alberm)
12. FORMATION (8/10 - still a bop)

Overall, her best overall body of work when taken as a whole, but the highs don't hit as hard as the best on her previous album (Partition, Haunted, Blow).

I'm surprised by how great this is. Is the narration on the actual album? After watching the music video several times, I can't imagine listening to this without it.

It's not on the album. But when you buy the album on iTunes it includes the film, so you could actually just listen to that and have the narrative.

Sales numbers are out.

The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Columbia megastar and Queen of the Universe Beyoncé has topped the HITS Album Sales Chart with around 501k for Lemonade. On the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart, she snagged an additional 163k, bringing that grand total to 664k. And if you break the SPS number down, it’s approximately 92k TEA (with huge single sales) and 76k SEA.

Only about 100k difference between this and her last album is pretty impressive considering Lemonade is free (trial'd) on TIDAL and has single tracks on iTunes/Amazon vs. being exclusively sold as a full album purchase the first week like last time.

She'll probably have the biggest opening week of any female artist this year unless Gaga pulls another gimmick and sells her new upcoming LP for $1 again or if Taylor releases this fall.

Becky, I mean Rachel, getting so much unwanted attention.

Meanwhile, professional attention whore Rita Ora (another one of Jay's rumored mistresses) is all but shouting "Notice me!" from the rooftops.

First the necklace, now this just the other day

First she gets kicked to the curb by Calvin Harris, then has her album hijacked by Ellie Goulding, now she can't even get the little Beyhive monsters to give her the time of day

poor her

I don't even have a desire to listen to this now that I heard Jay approved it all and it's just a big troll basically to sell.

Just because this album releasing is the other side of the ordeal, doesn't mean much of it isn't from the obvious upset of Bey getting betrayed in her marriage on the starting side of it. We know it really happened, she was cheated on by him. What's so bad about a project of hurt and finally forgiveness in her marriage, being approved by both parties involved in saving the marriage in the first place? Of course she would do as needed to find out if it would devastate him in their time of repair and just make things harder.

It's a great film and album.

I think some of her previous albums have higher highs, but I don't think she's ever had such a top to bottom consistently good album. Like that's a frankly stupid amount of craft on display between all the top tier songwriters and producers. And its hard to separate the whole "visual album" thing from the hour long video, with all its build-ups, narrations, interludes, and concepts.

Agreed. I can only admire her ambition, and the fact that she did justice to the grand concepts and themes she wanted to address.

It's a fully formed creation that never falters in what it's trying to accomplish, and the artistry in being able to weave all these producers' and songwriters' visions into a cohesive whole is something that always impresses me more than messy "auteur" creations like TLOP.

From top to bottom, from videos to music to even the rollout of her albums, Beyonce is the only pop act left serving that polished, ultra-sheen "star" quality. Maybe Taylor Swift one day when she finds lyrical inspiration beyond dicks that used to be inside her.

and I know its shallow to focus on this in a video that crosses so many ideas about black women and their fashion, history, beauty standards, relationship requirements, discrimination...but of all the beautiful black women in this thing, I couldn't get over that model with vitiligo.

she doesn't know yet, but this is actually my wife. I'm planning the wedding ceremony, I'll let ya'll know when you can attend.

^ She's so gorgeous.

Second week in, here's how I rank the songs so far:

1) All Night
2) Don't Hurt Yourself
3) Sorry
4) Formation
5) Pray You Catch Me
6) Freedom
7) 6 Inch
8) Daddy Lessons
9) Hold Up
10) Sandcastles
11) Love Drought
12) Forward

Honestly only the last three I don't actively seek out. Love Drought will probably grow on me though.
