Persona 5 comes out September 15th in Japan

It may release in December here, but really I can see it very early next year.

Yes. Praise for region free consoles.
Also obligatory screw Nintendo and their region locking(the only good thing about it spares my purse, my 3ds lib would have been double if not for the region locking.).

Yeah praise region free consoles, except when Atlus games are region locked on PS3, another "region free" console right.
 
So I missed the stream, but based on the boxart, I assume they finally showed the other party members rather than just the 4?
 
So a delay essentially. Hilarity.

Also I hope P5, M9, FF15, Zelda, The Division and Uncharted put the industry on notice. Stop this insane hype cycle.

But yeah better to not get to hyped about it releasing this year over here so either way you won't be destroyed.

I can wait to play honestly, there's alot I want this year & it will take me forever to get though XV.

Jesus fucking christ. If you're coming to e3 and announce a freaking 2017 release date consider me unhyped for the time being who the fuck releases a game a year+ later after constant promises it was going to be ready last year?
 
There's no way the English translation wasn't started waaaaaaay in advance. Atlus knows this is by far the biggest thing they have going on.

I remember being told here on this site that the PS4 version would be a waste of time prior to it being announced because the PS4 does not have a user base for Persona Games or RPGs. I wish I could find that thread. Lots of super over confident people who knew nothing.

They learned from that judging by Arena 2.

Also given that this won't have dual text/audio and the release dates are most likely apart it's very reasonable to assume that this won't be region locked.

Not that I'm excusing them cause I certainly didn't Arena 1 being region locked made me buy it for 5 bucks used.
But given the circumstances really no reason to flame them yet.
 
God that would've been a perfect date for me, I have nothing going on at that point for two weeks. Sadly XV comes out right when school starts.

I just want this soon Atlus,don't make me wait until next year. :(

December would be a mighty fine time for me.
 
Atlus would be crazy to miss NA this year. The game will do pretty well if released in the holiday period. There is a good size fanbase now and its been what 8 years since p4?

I think it doesn't matter if there was Persona games on PC or not, it's a new game in the series and it's about time to let PC players play the game along with everyone else. Plus JRPGs is doing well on Steam and people love them a lot, so I see no reason not to release the game on PC.

Praise the sun. If it has English text and English subs, I'll def consider import in light of a possible 2017 western release. That said, it's kinda nutty if P5 doesn't get a western release this year. It was supposed to come out last year. Persona's international audience seems to be more important to atlus especially given P4G's relative smash success. We'll see. The Japanese release confirmation at least gives us a goal post to measure from. It's a small victory but a notable one.

Well no one is preventing them from playing the game. Unfortunately, we can't have every game we want on one system. Besides it might get it eventually, like a couple (long) years later.
