Persona 5 comes out September 15th in Japan

Damn, def a 2017 Western release then since it takes them a while to localize.

Sometimes as game is also localized during it's development when the script / dialog becomes available. This is a rare case, but it does happen. Not saying this the case for Persona 5 though, but if it was a possibility it would shorten the length of time the English localization is polished leading to a quicker release in the West.

I don't think they care that much. This game is going up against FFXV in Japan.

2 weeks before it though, plenty of time, in NA those November games are the sales juggernauts, smaller games will get lost in the rush of it all, since those will be the games most consumers will have there mind on.

Coming before or after is the best for them.

Do we know if its going to have dual audio?

No, maybe they will release it as DLC, like SE does sometimes but I don't think Atlus has ever done that.

I hope it will be quick, since this was supposed to come out already by now.

Ah, I thought it was only a one week difference. I wonder if Persona sales are front loaded or if they have legs.

This game looks so stylish. And I like pretty much all the characters. It's high up on my most wanted games list.

Hope there'll be a release date for the west at E3. Hope EU gets a date as well, otherwise Ill import it.

Damn, that is a really solid looking cast. I always know it'll be good when I like enough of the characters that I can't decide up front who my main party will be.

Probably will narrow down to a regular rotation for all them to get equal battle time. Or put a specific member in my party when I need to use a specific elemental weakness against one of the boss enemies.

I am also curious how the Social element and town exploration aspects will be compared to Persona 4 Golden.

Man just talking about it makes me want to play it again. I never did the true final boss thing either. I think this time I'll take my time and play on a harder difficulty with my compiled event list to do a 100% clear before the English release of Persona 5.

So nothing from Atlas USA yet? You'd think for major events they'd be coordinated. Even if it's just "coming soon worldwide".

Sweet. I'll definitely check it out. I didn't really like P3 or P4, but P2 is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

Atlus JP mentioned some sort of presence at E3, Persona 5 is definitely a 2016 game.

In Europe 2016 is just a dream.
And adding injury to the insult the delay is not even justified by a localization. The game will stay in English only.
In the US I think that December 2016 is a likely release month assuming that localization is already underway as I think it is.

The more I think about it the more this needs to have as close to a worldwide release as possible.

Mainly because it's going to be so fucking hard to avoid spoilers for months. Euro-GAF, I feel for you. :(

My body is ready for this. I'm more excited about this than I was when I first heard the announcement for P3's JP release.

December 2016 for NA PLEEEEASE

If it did release in December, that's a big enough gap between SMTA and P5.

Late I know, but I misread the post I was responding to. I agree. A simultaneous release is definitely not happening but December is still plausible.

Fuck, I hate these JRPG long dev cycles. I guess I could just be glad that this game is actually coming out some day.

This may be an unpopular opinion but as a jrpg fan I really hope this isn't the NA release date too. I want to be able to enjoy both FFXV and Persona 5 to the fullest. Ambitious jrpgs with a decent budget are a rare thing these days. Both games should have their time in the limelight.

That's saying something. I remember when P3 debuted and GAF had quite the reaction :p

Glad to say I've finally gotten onboard as well. Can't remember the last time I was this amped for a game

This is good for JP and the JRPG market. We just gotta support both games and hopefully both review well! This could drive more ps4 sales in JP.

Definitely! And, at least in the West, good word of mouth could potentially give both games long legs.

And realistically, is P5 going to come out earlier than December in NA anyway? :-(

I'm gonna buy both games and I don't care about that sales noise. To me, the most interesting thing is that Atlus has to make a PS4K patch for this game since the localized version will surely be released after late September.

9/15 for JP?? Dammit, I was not expecting that. That pretty much means 2017 for NA. You're killing me Atlus.

A PS3 version is out of the blue. Makes me wonder if that has held back their graphics engine, because it looks like a PS3 title.
