This image seems to think that the guns are more WW2 era while everything else is WW1. That would be a pretty good approach to an alt history, not too out there but also not too grounded to interfere with BF style of gameplay.

If they can make it more intitmate with better terrain deformation and destruction I would be so in. Make the vehicles fucking terrifying to see come onto the field. Like see this damn thing

WWI is a pretty wicked game setting as long you ignore the artillery. This is the only time period where you can have biplanes, sword melee combat, horse cavalry, tanks, and guns. Tell me that doesn't sound ill.

IMO you can ignore historical racism without necessarily being alt-history. At least not "steampunk machine guns" levels of alt history.
BF key art makes it kinda hard to pin down a race but that looks black to me.

That's the feeling I'm getting, tbh.

Maybe it's just the one handed pistol that's making me think that. But WW1 allows them to avoid heavily developed cities and have more organic terrain also.

I hope the setting doesn't make the gameplay boring.

America barely had a military presence during it so it's not as much of a staple in our pop culture as it is for Europe. Not a shocking concept. How many French or British citizens can talk at length about the Vietnam war?
