BATTLEFIELD 1914

Images and other stuff.

Believe.

The tank, RPG and Goliath were all WW2 designs. We had tanks in WW1, the Germans used the A7V. The RPG was developed towards the end of WW1, but it wasn't perfected and used up until the second World War.

This is a WW1 German tank.

oh my god
I just realized
This means that there's gonna be MUSIC in this Battlefield game. It's been so long.
Sweeping bombastic orchestras!
Horns that don't sound like transformer farts!
yooo

His point is absolutely correct, though. The pacing in maps like Arica Harbor would grind to a halt once all the buildings were leveled. Hardly anybody enjoyed the ensuing Rattenkrieg. And that level of destruction meant that nearly every building was a copy-paste job, making for some pretty dull layouts and strategies.

Battlefield 4 was better in this regard, but because there's no way the hardware today would be able to handle dynamic destruction of skyscrapers, office buildings, TV stations, and whatever, they instead put in scripted "levolution" which a lot of players grew tired of fairly quickly. Each approach has its pros and cons.
without the full destruction bf3/bf4 were such a chore to play, every game played out in the same choke points of the map. bc2 was much more versatile in this regard.

in bc2 when buildings were bought to rubble people would employ smoke for cover so no i dont believe the flow came to a halt, players would have to alter their tactics. bf3/bf4 was the same shit every game

yep. been saying this exact thing for years.

"BC2 destruction was the best!!"

No, you were just destroying the same 4 sheds and town houses over and over again in the same manner.

and once a map was completely leveled it was complete shit.

what's with the Pirates of the Caribbean music

(in all seriousness, this track is definitely a new variation of the BF theme)

There's an Origin PC on the stream to be given away to a lucky winner for some competition on a twitter poll. It's equipped with an AMD FX 9790 + R9 390 x 2 + 32 GB RAM + Logitech input devices....

....and a Philips G-SYNC display panel?

DICE GO HOME YOU'RE DRUNK.

As always the chat is beyond bad. And the pre show isn't much better either. I still can't believe they are going for WW1 setting.

This is the first time since the Bad Company games that I've been excited for a new Battlefield title. I really hope they nail the campaign with this one!

Dammit I'd really like to watch the reveal live, but it airs exactly when I get off from work -_-

Any estimations on how long the reveal might be?

Guys in case the reveal trailer gets uploaded earlier on youtube, please don't post the link here.
What the matter with a link? Of course it'll likely have its own thread but still... It's behind a link, not embedded for all to see. A link means you have to click to see what is behind it.

full on destruction was 100% better. if this doesnt have bc2 level destruction i aint buying this shit.

gonna guess a ton of people don't want that after going up against organized teams in BC2

i know playing against a a group of GAF peeps was a nightmare, especially on maps like Nelson Bay. where are the trees? gone. that's where. walk across the open snow and die.
