Actually, I can't tell. I think it is a brand new theme based VERY VERY CLOSELY on the old themes from BF2 and 1942. It's definitely longer and sounds better and there's some new bits in there I think

BATTLEFIELD 1914

Well if they're going with the first World War, there's a lot of things for them to use.

The Germans were the first to use chemical weapons in battle. Poison and mustard gas were used most often by them, thus why you see the freaky gas masks on the troops.

Also, planes and zeppelins were used.

Trench warfare was intense and brutal(close quarter fighting with hands, bayonets, whatever you could find to pick up).

World War 1 plane

A zeppelin

Goliath tracked(wired) mines. Basically the Germans used remote control miniature tanks loaded with explosives and drove these under allied tanks and then detonated them.
