Greninja has a great chance of being one of the best water starters ever.

I'm surprised because I assumed GF nerfed every new Mon that's created and Greninja can be a workhorse with Protean

The framerate looked perfectly fine, there was a single very shorter stutter when all three starters where brought out and then a drop when the moon legendary used a move.

I saw more framerate problems at 1:10 and 1:25

Nah, that's just one island. (Oahu I think). We'll most likely be exploring the Pokemon version of Hawaii Island as well. I hope we also get Maui.

The game world is based on Hawaii.

We're likely going to have 4-5 main islands of fairly equal size, instead of just one main landmass with a few smaller islands.

Cat: Flamiau, Flamme (Flame) + Miau (Meow)

Bauz (bow-tz) is a great name, the rest are meh.

Water - Popplio... Oh boy. Ever since I was a kid I would pick the water starter for my first run of a pokemon game. However, Oshawott burned me so hard I almost passed up Froakie in gen 6. I was never sold on Oshawott's design (again, a little seal with clown design elements) and his look got more and more awkward as it evolved. I'm not taking my chances with this one, as I've disliked every single aquatic mammal pokemon Gamefreak has created to date.

I feel exactly the same. I don't think I can ever love again after Frokie (which to me is the superior water starter). Everything in comparison looks lesser.

No, since it is based on Hawaii it is likely an archipelago.

So far the Pokémon have only been part of countries (4 parts of Japan, NYC/NJ, northern France) so it could have been half of Hawaii, more like of Hoenn, one big island.

That's what I'm talking about yes, it's not perfect then. X/Y and ORAS had the same problem from time to time. Not a big deal but still. Hope it will take advantage of the New 3DS.

I love the starter designers (they're all fucking adorable), but I knew many other people would hate them immediately. Seriously, I guarantee that even if Game Freak made the perfect starter designs about half the fandom would find reasons to hate them anyway.

Nice to a revamp of the overworld visuals, and it appears Game Freak is finally done with tile-based maps. Legendaries are pretty sweet as well.

Oh look bringing 3rd gen. After 7th gen you'd think they would do more. At least your example have different typing than the original.

Back to topic, can't wait to see the rest. Hopefully its another 100 new mon + mega, instead of 100 including mega like x/y. I love x/y setting tho than hawaiian since I live in tropical place myself. Love the Moon legend too which I would get first then Sun.
