Reminded me of an old classic...

Pikachu better watch itself

Oh snap I remember that lol.

Actually, I want Rowlet to become this:

Couldn't agree more. Red and Blue was so refreshing after all the Scooby Doo nonsense to get started in X and Y. And then Lysandre. I don't caaaaaareeeee

Nintendo really needs to streamline the beginning of it's games. Shit is terrible.
Turns off new gamers instantly instead of their goal of easing them in...

I like all the starters. Litten is my favorite. I think he could have cool evolutions. Rowlet is the cutest and Popplio has Mega Man colors.

I like how the game is looking. It doesn't look like an XY expansion. I really hope the battle framerate is better.

I think Gen 6 really nailed it when it came to starter, legend, and trainer designs. All of those clicked with me immediately. I think, so far, Sun and Moon is a step back in those three aspects.

Oh yeah, I'm not trying to argue against it being the starting island or anything. Just that it might be possible that you'll leave and come back as opposed to exploring the entire island at once.

You're right about the volcano part. Guess it wouldn't be necessarily a later game thing at all. But now that you've educated me on Diamond Head (my knowledge about Hawaii is lacking), I'm hoping for a city built in that volcano.

Most volcanoes are located at the places where tectonic plates meet. That's why you get areas like the Pacific Ring of Fire:

Hawaii is different, though. It's smack dab in the middle of the Pacific plate. It's basically a hole in the middle of the plate, and as the plate has moved, so has the hole all of the magma comes through, and it's left a string of islands behind. The northwestern islands are the oldest and the big island to the southeast is the newest. There are 5 active volcanoes in Hawaii; 3 of them are on the big island and 1 is on the island northwest of it, and 1 is southeast.

I recently replayed the 3 games I never finished (fully) (P,BW, and BW2) and yeah....the starts are rough with all the "hey do you know how to catch a pokemon? Yes? Too bad I'm telling you anyway fucker. Also let me slowly show you around town...and no you can't run yet, bitch".

Like I get it. That was super helpful to Babby Mik317 but holy crap.....There needs to be an expert toggle or something.

I'm still bummed about the region inspired on Hawaii, not only it's not interesting enough for one gen but it will be too similar to Hoenn. I was really hoping for Spain or Mexico. I guess I don't care much about Hawaii like Japan does.

Oh man, Spain would have been the most boring thing in the entire world. Kalos taught us that Europe is bad and boring. I think this should be about as cool as Mexico, but with a more relaxed vibe which would be nice.

From the looks of it it doesn't look like Hoenn at all aside from being tropical.

Mexico has more to offer than Hawaii. I don't think we will ever get a region based on Latin America, sadly.

At least I have Pokemon Sage :')

Hey, you never know! Mexico can't offer that same vibe though, so at least Hawaii will bring something new there. I could see Pokemon Brazil in Gen 9.

But seriously, literally anywhere is better than Spain. Except "Southern Kalos", which is equally bad.

Mexico would be cool from a story perspective. Have the evil team not care so much about mythical Pokemon as much as they do about making money and selling illegal items, and have them be in control of the government.

I am entirely nonplussed by these First-evo starters.

they just scream "meh" to me. I guess the kitten is okay, and the seal is kina neat? nothing that really hits me. I'll wait for the evolutions.

EDIT: *Watches Trailer* OHSHIT SUNLION AND MOONBAT ARE FUCKING MINE. *orders masterballs*

Just realized we already have seel:

I think we have too many Pokemons, and it's time to do a total reboot to cut out some of them.

It's a sea lion actually, but if you consider the two the same then there's already two actually.

You're right that that's two too many. We should start exterminating the seven species of sea lions and 35 species of seals that are in the real world.

Pokémon has too many Fire Emblem characters. And they all use swords!

Pokémon has tackled the same animals multiple times so I don't see the problem with another seal Pokémon, let alone one with a circus motif. Same goes for the cats and Litten.

This makes no sense, do you know how many pokemon are the same type of animal in even just one gen? Gen 1 had several bird pokemon should they have rebooted it from gen 2?

There are lots of different kinds of seals in real life too, although I'll admit their differences aren't as exciting as the ones you get in a Pokemon game.

I like that stuff. I want there to be multiple species of Pokemon who might sort of be part of the same clade, just like we've got in real life. We've got millions.

It kinda makes sense. Like Japan, Hawaii is a volcanic island chain. It's like Japan but smaller. With Japan they split it into multiple regions, but Hawaii is about the size of one region.

In their first fully 3D Pokemon they decided to basically make a region that was a shrunk down Japan. Also, I'm sure part of it was that making it several islands helps with technical limitations.

Honestly as long as they have something new going on, I have no problem with it. The new starters are all pretty unique.

This isn't even the first Sea Lion water starter the series has had

If it doesn't drastically change species mid way through evolution (like Oshawott), it'll be the first time two final form starters share the same exact base animal.

what about Blastoise and Torterra? Though I get what you mean, since they'd both be water.
