Here's a quick vid showing off the trans model loading and unloading. I was exaggerating the effect so people would understand what I meant.

Here's one of my Favourites..Zakspeed Capri Group 5

..and Zakspeed Group 5 driven by Peter Zakowski

Notice that even with Getrag 5 speed gearbox, there is still some transmission/engine oscillation going on..

There's an intermediate tire option. What's the point of having intermediate tires if the weather isn't dynamic?

Kaz pls.

The tyre options are identical to GT6. Maybe we'll be able to choose different weather severity? Won't be dynamic but it's better than just having it piss down 100% of the time.

Also the GTPlanet video of the Mazda Roadster (which they appear to have set to private?) has dashboard reflections on the windscreen. Very noticeable around 3.30

Yeah, I noticed that right away, it's very subtle. Probably too subtle, to be honest. It doesn't really convey a sense that there's a glass screen in front of you at all times. Needs to be a bit more vivid, I think.

Maybe that's the root of a few of the gripes with GT: it's too subtle. The engine noise is too subtle, the attitude of the cars is too subtle, the cockpit movement is too subtle, the alpha effects are too subtle, the environmental effects are too subtle... Who knows.

Is there a list of what we actually know about GTS anywhere? A fact sheet? I'm still a bit confused about weather, ToD, skyboxes vs volumetric clouds, day/night cycles etc etc.

sry google translate'

I try to resume soon 137 cars 27 tracks
it must be understood that after the launch trailer, catastrophic it must be said, everyone got scared .. and myself first but the news that followed are pretty good overall: there will be many damage (off for presentation, because nobody would have finished a tour of nurb according kaz), the day / night cycle as well as the weather conditions, but obviously not dynamic (as in forza 6, the day / night cycle in less) the physics of the game according to many other testers is not as arcade that what we read ici..custom and adaptive tessellation, the AI, the sounds were widely improved..and VR: hap:
but above all, and that if it is in place it can be great, it is the ranking that will not only win races but also follows the way we pilote..les roads exits, frets with others competitors, all this is taken into account and forces the player to drive gentleman driver !!

well lot of positives anyway, just the technique and the numbers of cars and above all the "tray FIA" (F1, proto, LMP, wtcc, wrc ..) which appears badly exploited, it will clearly missed brands and new cars but that will surely expanded the game throughout his life with some additional € ..

the coming months will be to monitor: ok:

Might be onto something there. It is sort of a .... pattern.

Do me a favour and put the word "Nordschleife" into Google.

Okay, let's clear that one up from someone who was born and grew up there:

The whole area is called "The Nürburgring" which was opened in 1927. Even in the earlier days there was ne North slope (Nordschleife) and a South Slope (Südschleife), the later being completely replaced in 1984 with the Nürburgring Grand Prix track, as the Nordschleife was deemed to dangerous for Formula 1 races at the end of the 70ties.

As you all well know from different games or real life experiences, both Nordschleife and GP Track are connected. Still, tourist drivers most of the time only are allowed to use the Nordschleife, which has three entrances (Nürburg, Meuspath and Breitscheid).

For those remembering a Top Gear episode where Jezza tried to lap the Nordschleife under 10 minutes, they used this layout:

nordschleife-bridge-to-gantry.jpg

(so, basically w/o the Döttinger Höhe straight).

But I digest. There are only a couple of races on the Nordschleife. Most of them, especially the VLN series, use the Nordschleife and the short layout of the Grand Prix track (so they don't drive the Müllenbach section of the GP track).

As around 200 cars participate on the 24h race, which will take place one week from now, this race uses the entire / longest possible track layout.

It's crazy listening to some of these official 1080p direct feed videos from gtplanet with headphones and then listening to this...

And wondering why can't Sony just use the files they already own?

Christ on a bike, that really brings GT's audio issues into sharp relief. How can two first party studios be at such polar opposites of the spectrum within the same genre? And how can anyone (apart from apologists, naturally) claim with a straight face that powerful, authentic, multi-layered audio doesn't add anything to a racing game?

And wondering why can't Sony just use the files they already own?

Because studios work independently of each other, largely and unless either of them reach out to each other or Sony intervenes , they're effectively 2 separate companies doing their own thing.

And lol at Sony intervening at whatever Kaz does.

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my vacuum gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still my vacuum gently weeps

I don't know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you

I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my vacuum gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my vacuum gently weeps

Well...

I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my vacuum gently weeps
Look at you all
Still my vacuum gently weeps

Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, ooh

- lyrics by a GT fanboy, vocals by Kaz

Man I want sounds like these in my GT ;(

Gran Turismo has traditionally always been more about the love affair with cars, about collecting and cherishing them, photographing them, about the Sunday drive. Racing was almost an afterthought. The music, controversial as it's always been, was always a big contributor to that relaxed vibe. However, there's a weird juxtaposition now that GT Sport is apparently aiming for more of a motorsport focus. The pre-race music feels totally inappropriate. It should be getting the blood pumping and the adrenaline flowing, building tension for the race, evoking feelings of danger, and glory. Instead it sounds like you're in line at the grocery checkout, waiting for the old lady in front of you to stop fiddling with her change. It hardly builds anticipation for a tough, dangerous race ahead.

It's one of the things Shift 2 did well

...and another example

I dunno, maybe GTS isn't trying to deviate far at all from the structure and overall 'feeling' of GT 1-6 apart from having an FIA licence stapled to it and aspirations of e-sports. Strip away those bits and yep, it could be GT7 Prologue. I guess I was rather hoping that this really would be a tightly-focussed motorsports title, an authentic spin-off to sit alongside GT7, not as a replacement for it.

GTS is doing something good for the entire genre and something that should of been there on consoles quite a while ago: e-Motorsports.
The monthly competitions that will be broadcasted, new TV-like race display, class system, FIA driving licenses are all trying to elevate racing into the e-Sports category.

The quality of the streaming tech needs a lot of work then, because watching events like those shown the other day has little appeal: twitchy handling, downgraded visuals, floaty-looking physics... and that was using a LAN. It's all seemingly far removed from the quality of a 'normal' GTS replay from trackside cameras. Add warping from online lag and it could be an absolute shitshow. They also need to work on the overall structure, rules and penalties too, because the supposedly best GT drivers on the planet made it look like a pissed-up public lobby on a Saturday night after the pubs have closed.

I can't really see this taking off. PGR3 had a 'broadcast' feature ten years ago with similar issues. Unless it's managed tightly like iRacing, it could be doomed to fail.

Yeah they need to fix the buggy replays in online mode. Better netcode maybe.
Rules were relaxed in this comp because it was the first time. With the new class system, I'm sure the top classes will have clean racers. Would be interesting to see what penalty system is in place.

iRacing is the goal I feel but it is tiny (50k users) compared GTS' possible 5 million+ users. Managing and enforcing rules like you said will be crucial in if this can take off.

a step in the right direction, but still not quite there, it seems. at least it's better than nothing.

they're probably working with the biggest production budget of all racing developers, so i'm not quite sure why they can't seem to get that right. if it were a ram issue, like it supposedly was on the ps3, that should no longer be a problem with the ps4.

Really Love the New blowoff valve Sounds.
Heard it in the live stream also and is much beter then gt6.
That Vvv video shows they are werking on it and is absoluut beter then gt6. Im Loving it.
