Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Any ideas where on their site, or anywhere else, I can find the coaxial cable for the T.E.2?

Mine is becoming frayed on the coaxial end and I need another one before MC goes completely belly up.

I put in a help ticket on their site yesterday since my TE2+ is randomly disconnecting, and they said they'd ship me a new wire. Give that a try.

So I'm packing, had my sticks out to take that pic and didn't put them back up before going to bed. Get home last night, and one of my cats is MANIC about being fed. I got home late, so she was especially rowdy, and she's walking between my feet. I'm trying to set stuff down, and I almost step on her and have to shift my weight so I don't kill my cat, and I come down with a foot on my OG VLX. :(

Hella dended the frame and panel. :( :(

Took it apart to try and straighten it out, but only made it worse, I think. Anywhere I can go that might be able to straighten out metal?

FWIW Jasen's Customs does make new top panels for VLXs but for the frame...that's tough :(

In better news my John Cena TE-S is now complete. Used the Chun TE-S body and put in Remora for LED, Brook board, and Spark optical board for the joystick (which I love!). Had some excellent help from Vic at vickomods.com after I messed it up a bit. He's the man and I 100% recommend him for anyone that wants to get work done on their sticks.

This stick is awesome, lmao.

And yeah...I side somehow got bent in, I tried to bang it out. It closes, I got it mostly straightened, but there's something on the top, underneath the panel that is bent, so it divots inward quite a bit.

sigh.

My beautiful VLX :(.

Mak Japan in Akihabara Or the Yodobashi Camera also in Akihabara. Mak Japan carries some older limited edition sticks and lots of sanwa parts. Yodobashi carries the Mad Cats TE+, TE2, TE2+, Chun edition sticks. They also carry the latest Hori RAP 4, V kai, and silent sticks. Once again I'm talking specifically about the Akihabara branch. Not all Yodoboshi Cameras carry fight sticks.

I got back from Japan a month ago and Yodobashi had plenty of TES+'s and Hori's but the TE2+'s were nowhere to be found. In all the shops I went into, the Hori sticks were the most common. I'm sure I missed some stores though, so look around :p

Thanks for the the recommendations, I was just in Yobodashi camera yesterday in akiba but I was too rushed to look at sticks properly. Wish I had seen this post earlier but my own fault! I'm off to Kyoto and Osaka now so I'll look for those sticks there.

To those of you who have been using the Hayabusa buttons for a while now, how have they held up? Has the matte finish noticably worn off or anything, and are they still working well? I'm considering picking up a HRAPV soon and was wondering if the Hayabusa's would be worth keeping or if I should just order some Sanwas to go with it.

they're still like new. i don't have sweaty hands and my hardware is genereally in top shape. i play almost daily on my HRAPV.

Was Tokido's MCZ stick the that disconnected this morning? Because that's exactly what I'm seeing with mine. Maybe it's not a wire problem and is actually a design flaw? Either way, I think I should hurry up and get the hrapv to use as my primary stick for competition, since it seems like MCZ could be less than reliable.

Hey all! I just bought a Mad Catz TE2+ yesterday and it's pretty amazing. However mine seems to have one small issue. When the stick is returning to center from the down position, there is a very distinct SQUEAK sound. It only happens traveling in this direction.

Any idea what is causing this? Is this normal? Does it just need to be broken in? Or is this potentially defective and I should look at getting it returned/replaced?

Thanks!

you may need to lube it, there should be videos on how to do it. strange for a new stick to need it though

Unfortunately, a squeaky seems to be a problem for a lot of te2+ owners. Look up how to clean the microswitches and really give them/the area around them a good wipe.

I opened her up and isolated the culprit: it's the microswitches... now the left one is doing it too. I tried cleaning them as best as I could with a dry cloth, but nothing seems to make a difference... the sound happens when the microswitch is coming back up. Should I return this for another?

Mine was the same way, and I kept having to open it to clean them until it finally stopped. Make sure you're being thorough not only on the switch, but the area around it too.

What do you use to clean in there? just a cloth? it's such a tiny area. i realized after my post that I didn't actually open up the microswitch. i did that just now and eliminated the squeak on the right side but the bottom is still going strong :/

Edit - I opened it up again and realized I didn't clean the top plate that closes up the micro switch. Cleaning that *seems* to have done the trick! Hopefully it stays squeak free!

On a side note I just ordered an octagonal gate. I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it helps with my QCF/B.

I cleaned mine over and over everywhere and every part multiple times and it would always come back. I just ripped it out and installed a Hayabusa in there and called it a day.

Just repainted an old beat up SFIV fight stick and put on matching buttons/balltop. Can't get any lami-label prints where I'm located sadly so I had to paint. Came out pretty great though.

I'll be getting a PS4 sometime soon though and I've been looking at PS360 pcb stuff to mod my old sticks for next gen. Thing is I'm seeing stuff like they only work on X1 first waves and some kind of 8 minute timeout thing mentioned on PS4 over on focus attack.

Right now what is a reliable PCB for next gen modding? Outside of that what are some decent quality PS4 sticks right now?

The brook universal fight board is a good pcb without timeouts.

Where is the best place to get Mad Catz TE2+ Side Panels? I only see 3 listed on amazon and 2 of them are out of stock...

Going forward it seems amazon is going to be their storefront so that would be the place to get them. Other than that you would have to buy them second hand from others for the time being.

ah gotcha, hopefully mad catz doesn't go out of business :(

Hopefully partnering with Amazon will help them focus only on providing parts for their main items. I would think they would also try and restructure their company to focus on fewer & higher quality items to reduce the overhead of having so many peripherals and the QC issues that come with that business model.

their transition to amazon has been going as swimmingly as everything else lately

I forget who it was, but thanks for the heads up that Arcade Shock had re-stocked Hayabusa buttons. Copped 6 and threw them in my OG Madcatz SF4 Fight Stick (the cheaper entry-level one). Buttery smooth and the low-profile looks nice on the smaller shell.

So it seems my Mad Catz TE2 stick for the PS has gone bad. I just noticed that it's continuously holding down forward at all times, even if I remove the stick. While it doesn't seem to effect me much in 2D games 3D games are another matter.

Unfortunately returning is not an option for me so I'm wondering what solutions I have. Mad Catz's store where they might have sold this stuff is gone now and it seems most third party PCBs require soldering which I have no idea how to do.
Is there any way to get a hold of an official Mad Catz one?

Ask on SRK trading post for the PCB. You might get lucky.

Puzzle Fighter time :) This custom is made with Walnut wood and has a satin finish. It's wired for PS3/PC play. The buttons are OBS-MX blue and the stick is a Hori.

Has anyone heard anything about the FS transporter 2 bag? It looks pretty clean and since I haven't been able to find another Defender in the last year I am kind of running out of options.

Here is a link: http://splitframe.net/collections/bags/products/fs-transporter-2-special-edition-bag

I got the Ryu and Bison ones. They're fucking quality. This one has tons of padding in it with all types of velcro for different stick configurations. Pricey, but worth it, imo.

I forgot they had a Ryu one. Damn. Well I'll probably get this one as it looks less "gamer gear" and more like a regular backpack. Your seal of approval is all I need to make a decision.

Might get the Bison one later on if they have any available or wait until they release another model.
