Trump v. Bernie Debate

In 08? Yeah.

In 12? Sure, a bit.

This year? Hasn't seemed to matter at all, especially in the primary season.
I'm glad you Americans were able to move past and get over a shitty and morally abhorrent decision that ruined the lives of millions of Iraqi citizens.

Margin of Error isn't quite so simple when aggregating 10+ polls, and even if you're looking at a single poll, it isn't the driver of true error in comparison to the results. Sampling biases are what will kill you.

You're right, skirting the margin of error in these battleground states should inspire a tremendous amount of confidence within the Denocratic Party.
It's May and there is still a corpse in the democratic race that will be burned in a few short weeks. When focus is strictly hill vs trump, she will pull away. But you can believe what you want.

And the reason I post those pictures is just to say "I'm not voting for Hillary." I cannot bring myself to vote for someone who's lying at the scale that she has.

She said that she followed all the rules, but she absolutely didn't. She said that her server complied with security protocols, and it absolutely didn't. She said she got necessary approval, and she didn't. She said that it's like her predecessors, and it's not (hers was exclusively on personal).

And remember, this is coming from the highest government investigator in the country who's a Democrat, appointed by a democrat.

If she were President and this happened again, it would be a national security crisis.

You all don't trust Donald Trump with nuclear codes... but why on earth would you trust someone who doesn't give a shit about cybersecurity with them?

So who are you voting for? The guy that wants to re-invade Iraq and take their oil?

I'm voting for any 3rd party candidate I can.

I hope that no current candidate (except Bernie) gets to 270.

I hope the House of Representatives chooses someone sane and reasonable for the next 4 years.

This is simply illogical. I dont even understand.

It's analogous in the sense that his entire argument is trolling with "If Clinton is so strong, why should X, Y, and Z be a problem for her?"

Well no matter how good a team is or how a strong a candidate is, they aren't somehow immune to losing or being weakened when dealing with ridiculous standards like someone in their own party that refuses to accept their loss.

I'll be sure to print out those pictures, that way I could place them on your tombstone so your grandchildren can read them when your dead.

If Hillary is a strong candidate, then she should have no issue defeating Trump on her own merit.

Bernie riding his message out until the convention shouldn't even matter in that case.

It matters if the party tries to remain impartial until it is really "settled." Warren and Obama need to be out there appealing to the huge chunk of Bernie supporters that greatly approve of one or both of them, but they really can't or won't until things are officially done.\

I'm totally not convinced that "Bernie riding his message out until the convention shouldn't even matter in that case." makes any sense at all. What data points do you have to support that notion? Who actually waited until the convention to give up in the modern primary system? Democrat 1984, I guess, and Mondale fucking lost big.

So what?

You're telling me that can't get it done between July-Nov?

Lol. House electing a sane person...

I think there should be a law requiring "none of the above" to be on every ballot. If that is the most popular selection they need to pick two new candidates and there is another election is 4 months until someone actually wins.

Would you rather have 3.5 months to campaign, or five months? And it isn't just gaining back lost ground, but not losing extra ground in the first place, with the growing blaze of glory that Bernie's camp seems to be fueling. Most of the surge of negativity came after he was almost eliminated on March 15th and entered "biggest longshot ever" territory.

The GOP lead house? No one in that party is sane.

As for cyber security? Someone trying an attack is not the same as a successful one, and anything is better then the party which let 3000 die in the streets, started two failed wars, and crashed the world economy from ever seeing power again.

Some things are just too important to leave in the hands of madmen. Clinton is, regardless of her flaws, still better by leagues than any of them.

The current House is incapable of that. What, like half of the House GOP are Freedom Caucus madmen? And the other half are too terrified of primary challenges on the right to cross this first group.

Florida and Ohio are classic swing states. What are you expecting? Any candidate would be pleased with these results. Obama barely won Florida.
I know what I am expecting. For them to be battleground states. Some here cannot wrap their heads around the fact that these states are not a sure thing for Clinton.

I would absolutely give them all to Clinton right now but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that these polls show there will be tough fights in some battleground states, moving forward.

But you already know they wouldn't pick someone sane and reasonable tho.....

Yeah, imagine the chaos if more of her "please print" emails leaked when she was president. THE HORROR

Yes, because letting an extremist Republican Congress pick the President is sure to lead to a President who espouses Bernie's ideals.

I just don't understand some of Bernie's supporters. They want the far left progressive guy, but are willing to take the far right bigot as a consolation prize. It's as if policy has no say in their thought process at all - they just want to be hipsters and vote for the non-establishment guy, all while pretending they hold some kind of progressive values dear.

That's just complete nonsense. If the House gets to pick the president, they'll choose the Republican candidate: Donald Trump. Who else do you think they would pick? According to the constitution, they can only choose from the top three candidates by electoral votes. The options would be Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and...? Who's the mystery candidate that would get any electoral votes? The #NeverTrump movement to seek out a republican to run an independent campaign was a complete bust, and Bernie Sanders has repeatedly ruled out a third-party run (and you'd be crazy to think that the GOP congress would choose Sanders over Trump, anyway).

They want to see the system destroyed and don't care who does it or what gets put in its place.

These really are the minority of Bernie supporters.

I understand the thought behind it though, even if I don't agree.

Okay, you got me. Who would be considered "sane and reasonable."

I can't wait to hear the mewling cries of pain from Sanders supporters when the lesser evil turns out to be Michael Bloomberg.

The Paul Ryan/Tea Party House? ROTFL. Bernie Bros are delusional.

If it was even remotely a problem as you and Mattenth were saying it is she would've been arrested already.

It's all Republican propaganda and it has been from the start.

If it was really that bad, there are literally hundreds of Bush Administration employees that would or should be in prison right now. They literally had 5-to-20 million emails on private servers and lost them.

The downplaying here is unbelievable.

It's been going on for a long time now.

Ideally more time is better obviously. I still say that if Hillary is a strong candidate and it's an easy slam dunk over Trump, then let Bernie finish what he started.

If all the Bernie Bros are going to fall in line like some are predicting then what difference does it make if you let them state their piece on the way out?

...

This thread has gotten me dangerously close to using the ignore function for the first time ever.

Talk about spiteful and shortsighted.

The House can't just pick someone, they are limited to the top 3 receivers of electoral votes.

The House in its current composition would invariably go for Trump in such a scenario.

This is a really dumb decision made by Bernie.

If Bernie wins, he can make a more valid argument to his supporters that he should be nominated on the same night that Hillary will likely win the nomination through the California primary. Bernie would essentially weaken the party by not stepping down following the end of primary season and strengthening his supporters' argument of #NeverHillary.

If Trump wins, the Democratic Party looks weak, some Bernie supporters become Trump voters, and Hillary looks weak because 90% of her policies are identical to Sanders'. Trump would have already have a debate victory under his belt, with Hillary waiting until September to make her argument to the country/independent voters.

This is not a good move by Sanders. I understand and I can appreciate why he chose to participate in this debate, but this is not something you do when the party needs towards unification.

So the state department report detailing serious issues is Republican propaganda?

I am not saying she will be arrested but it is a serious issue that will hurt her in the GE.

I'll repeat:

If it was even remotely a problem as you and Mattenth were saying it is she would've been arrested already.

The fact is that mostly everyone doesn't think it's serious or worth prosecuting. The only people who do care are diehard Republicans or Bernie supporters, and the latter should honestly know better than to fall for what is very clearly a smear campaign.

I really haven't been paying attention to what the Republicans have been saying about it. The fact is, the state department report has shown how Hillary has lied about her e-mail situation, as I've pointed out earlier.

Maybe it won't bother the die-hard Clinton supporters here, but it will certainly bother many voters.

What's the FBI's part in this?

This is politics. It is good to see a bit of dialectics.
