Is there a reason for that? Sorry I'm new to all of this. Just built my first PC this year.
Or 30 people saved on having to wait a little longer and spend less money on a better designed 1080 card.
These will probably probably be tough to find for a couple weeks depending on supply.
I really advise avoiding the EVGA models. They just have a single 8 pin power connector, so they're going to be power starved when it comes to overclocking.

Just wanted to make sure I have one on hand when starting to build a computer, it might take a while for the cheaper cards to get here where I'm living. If they arrive in stock before I get my other parts, I'll just return this and buy the cheaper ones.

So you were not in a hurry at all, but you still got caught in the hype and bought one of the most expensive versions of the card that also performs pretty bad with that cooler instead of waiting another week or two to get a good one for cheaper?

Probably for the best; I'd prefer an overclocked / non-reference board. But Doom is TAUNTING ME.
I should really sit the whole thing out because my actual goal is 60fps at 4K... but my current PC is a GTX 570. It weeps.
I prefer them to all the MSI and Gigabyte 3 fan ones or even my own accelero xtreme IV monstrosity(I but up with it because it's much better than those though, will have to see how the Hybrid preforms now that it's a custom board)

Not really speculation no, we've already seen that the EVGA SC performs cooler and quieter, and that's a step below the FTW which is still cheaper than the FE.

EVGA has their non-FE cards up on their site for pre-order and they're both cheaper than the FE.

No speculation. The custom cooler designs feature factory OC, much better cooler designs, and are cheaper. They are better in every way imo.
EVGA needs to charge more and funnel the bucks into a new web server.

I just know that over here, supply will be extremely/pretty low for a while because all of the cards that are getting made are being sent to more important locales. We got 15 FE cards on release. I'm not really losing anything by doing this, I'll just return the unopened box and get my money back if the better cards arrive in the next few weeks. I'd rather do this than wait until July to see if I can maybe get my hand on the cheaper cards.
