The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Boss fight spoilers

Really loved that first Vampire fight like an hour into the expansion. Was well prepared with black blood and moon dust and destroyed her. It was so cool how she jumped on me and bit my neck and ended up taking even more damage just like that trailer from a while back

-The update broke Flood of Anger: you can't cast Alt signs anymore, and perk is useless at higher levels in death march.

-Crippling shot never worked and it still doesn't.

I can respec my pure melee build and never feel bad for leaving those two perks out.

Damn, that sucks for flood of anger. I haven't played since release, any other notable broken character talents/items? I tried out the arachas deconcoction just now (the one that gives more resistance for low weight) and it made exactly zero changes to my characters resist stats while wearing cat armor and 23/160 weight.

Anyone else not a fan of the UI for the inventory menus? I noticed that items you just picked up don't go directly to the top anymore, and I can't find the new item in 1 of the menus so the star next to it is bothering me.
Yes I'm oc as fuck

Bloom seems a bit excessive in this here expansion area.

Too bad disabling bloom also eliminates sun shafts. It's times like these I wish ENB series was available for the game - or that I knew how to tweak things with this game. I'd be interested to know how the Super Turbo Lighting mod was created and if anyone could try making one of those.

I really like the music though.

Between the house and the sense of adventure and the beauty of this world, you could trick me into believing I was playing The Witcher 4. Bravo, CDPR, can't wait to play more tomorrow.

I believe my game is bugged. I'm earning negative (?) XP. Right now I'm level 70, and it shows this:
-1123/2000

The XP progress bar isn't moving at all either. Guess I'll have to wait for a patch.

The way I understand it is there's 1.21 versions of Hearts of Stone and the 16 free DLC. If your game is launching and not crashing on startup I'm guessing it's auto-downloaded them. I tried launching the game without having the 1.21 version of Hearts of Stone and it crashed on me before startup.

However for me, Galaxy's never auto-downloaded anything, at least that I can recall.
Nevermind, the crash on startup is mod incompatibility.

Just finished downloading the 7.5GB. Launched the game and B&W doesn't show up. Now I see it's downloading it again from scratch. WTF?

Not sure how I feel about enemy upscaling. I was looking for an excuse to go through a ton of low level quests, but the lack of any XP scaling makes me wonder if I should look to the mod scene to find something more appropriate.

Ugh. The single most frustrating thing about coming back into this game after a long time away isn't that it's bad enough I can't remember how to play, but that each patch resets all my custom keybinds. Such a nuisance.

I know the feeling, I'm still getting used to the controls after not playing for months.

Once I finish up Blood and Wine, I plan to do a fresh playthrough.

The fact they're willing to add level upscaling and not touch the level requirements on gear baffles me. I mean, I beat some stuff fair and square, and sometimes even went to great lengths to take risk just to unlock the high tier school sets, yet what do I get?

'You are not high level enough to wear this.'

I decided to quick start as a level 33 Geralt in Heart of Stone, killed a random thug, and guess what I got? Armor and a sword that I can't wear cause it's level 35. Bollocks.

I won't be able to play for a week or so but does anyone have any in game comparisons of pre and post patch Witcher armors? Lot of people on CDPR forums acting like the sky is falling with the recolors but I can't imagine it's that bad?

This:
Colours of the base armours have really changed with 1.21, to accommodate the dye system.

Way over leveled. I beat the first two bosses despite playing terribly. I haven't played this in a while so it took some time to get back into the flow of the combat, lol.

Loving it so far though. The characters i've met so far have been pretty awesome.

There is a level-scaling option added in the 1.20 patch for this situation, if you're so inclined.
