The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Colours of the base armours have really changed with 1.21, to accommodate the dye system.

Honestly if the difference is that subtle in game then who cares. I saw some screenshot of the Wolf gear where it was like bright red with olive pants but I think some people are getting bugged textures or something. That's a VERY small difference.

Couple of things ;

-I was expecting to be disappointed by the UI stuff from reading some complaints earlier that performance went to crap and such but actually on my end at least everything seems real polished and a clear improvement, so im happy.

-They definitely changed something about the way this game renders shit. Like my MSI afterburner performance is acting very differently than before the patch. Im now getting much higher temps and overall it seems as if the game is pushing my GPU a bit more. Something also looks a little different but i cant put my finger on it. I would like to see a DF article on what the changes are exactly. Maybe they tweaked the AA or something? Really hard to tell.

Way over leveled. I beat the first two bosses despite playing terribly. I haven't played this in a while so it took some time to get back into the flow of the combat, lol.

Loving it so far though. The characters i've met so far have been pretty awesome.

What level are you? I'm level 40, I want to play right now but I'm still waiting on all the parts of my new PC build to arrive :/

If i start blood and wine can i fast travel back to the old map at any time? I haven't started HoS so I'd like to know if i can go back and forth

About the first quest:
Is there a way to save Milton? Getting through certain objectives faster, or something? Dude seemed like good people, reunion with Regis was soured a bit because of his death. :(

Speaking of Regis... Looks a bit... Quirkier than I was expecting, based on his Gwent card, and that Blood & Wine teaser art that leaked a while back.

Anyone on pc noticing framedrops or worse performance? Once I got to the cottage and talked to the toussaint knights, frame rate dropped to around 15-20, and once they set out for toussaint, game crashed.

For reference, I used to get 50-60 fps depending on the area
Gtx 970
8gb ram

I assume theres a grandmaster armor for every set, right? I found the feline quest I believe and it led me to a really cool area that was too tough to clear for now but did have a cart full of dyes

I left my home PC running, so hopefully GOG Galaxy downloads and installs it all by the time I get home. Pray to Melitele that nothing goes wrong.

Something has changed in the graphics renderer, thats all i can say at this point. Someone needs to investigate for science.

I started getting too many crashes after some progress in HoS and installing the new patch. I had the OC on my card for a while and it is pretty much stable in TW3 (had it for 100 hours probably).

Anyone getting crashes? Could it be the number of save files that I created?
It started during the wedding quest.

Edit: I get CTD when I try to buy anything from blacksmiths and armorers.

It's been a while since I've played the game, but did the go back over Velen, and the other areas to improve the visuals? The game seems to look better to me, but like I said it has been a while.

Damn, all of them look way worse now. Frustrating considering the hours it took to find and craft them. Is there any way to choose which part of the armor you want to dye, or is it all or nothing?

Might be good to update the OP with the following information:

- No new visual changes to Velen/Skellige/Novigrad.

- Recommended level for Touissant is 34.

- You can start a new pre-levelled character if you just want to play the expansion.

- You can travel to and from Touissant via the world map.

Anything else?

No they didn't. Apparently the way they built the world as far as placing props etc were completely different between the base game and the more advanced and optimal way with Blood and Wine. So they would likely need to go back and spend months alone on rebuilding the old world

They did say they've changed the way B&W renders things.

I've noticed a lot more framerate drops than in the main game.

CPU temps skyrocketing too. Only game that's doing it. Vanilla W3 didn't either.

Biggest drop so far on a 970 is to 45/50fps.

Got the Gwent Book quests promptly followed by 2 failed Gwent quest lol,oh well no interest in Gwent anyway for now...on PS4 the UI is still laggy as fuck, menu, map, inventory is laggy as well, all the jank is still there(loading after death is awful,up to a full minute)...played for about an hour, everything else is pretty great so far though.

I'm level 40. I'm going to try that combat difficulty upscale option that was added in the patch.

I believe I saw one of the quests with a level 47 recommend text next to it. The first ones I did when I started were like level 37 recommended quests.

Seems like there have been some visual changes.

I am getting shit-ton of issues. The game started crashing in the menu and during some cutscenes; I can't trade at all and changing equipment is a toss up IRL RNG.

My spy gwent cards are permanently buffed (green) and it STACKS with my opponent's Dandelion/buff card.

Amazing patch. 1.05 all over again.

I love the new UI, but I preferred the fixed and instant tooltip from the previous UI.

The new floating tooltip does make the text more readable, and I do like that, but it also makes it harder when you're say looking through potions to find the right one, and the tooltip box gets in to the way of your navigation. It also makes the navigation difficult because the tooltip keeps moving all the time as you move, so it takes more time to adjust and read the information.
Maybe a fixed option like before that just shows the name of the object you have highlighted when the floating tooltip is off might be a good solution?
