The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

There needs to be a proper retail release of the OST which contains every track in the base game plus all the DLC. I would pay $50 easily.

Didn't see an answer before, so let me ask again. Anyone else having trouble locking on to enemies in B&W? It's just plain not working for me. Not on bosses or normal enemies.

And man, I think I actually like the old UI better as far as the inventory goes. Seems slower to get to the items I need, and the decoction/potion tab is a nightmare.

Bah, people want for the game to pkay akone. Exploration, talking to people, trading, are part of the game.

That's all well and good, but when you've played the game for 200 hours and are down to the last 10 you need from random merchants, you want them to elaborate a little more.

:P

This happens to me sometimes, but it actually is locking on, it's just that there is no gold border around the enemy to indicate that he is the one you locked on, I tested this out in one of the boss fights and sure enough when I lock on there is no indication whatsoever, apart from a slight camera tilt, but it is actually locked on.

Then I guess it's on my end. Everything worked fine with 1.12, so I guess I'll have to test some things out. Using a few updated mods, but maybe they are causing this.

Longer...wtf. They are already ridiculous long in vanilla/HoS...

Oh man, this is a bummer. I beat the main game and Hearts of Stone on PS4, and a few months ago built a pretty capable gaming rig that can run the game on a mix of high/ultra settings at 1080p/60fps with hairworks off. It looks fantastic, but I'm only a few hours into a second playthrough on PC, so I decided to dive into Blood and Wine on PS4 where I had already leveled up to 40.

Even after playing the PC version for 15-20 hours, the PS4 version looks and feels just fine to me, except for one thing...the loading times. They're so bad. Staring at a dark screen for a minute or more every single time a new area loads feels frustrating after this only taking 5-10 seconds on PC. Somehow it's the only difference between the two versions I really notice.

Oh well, if any game is worth it, it's this one. Somehow I made it through 150 hours without this bothering me so hopefully it just fades into the background once I really get into it.

By now (if you made all Gwent Quests), your Northern Realm deck should be untouchable. Every sword unit in your deck should be a hero card except these 4 point assassins who double their points with each of their cards. Hav

Have Gwent set on hard and nothing comes close to beating me with it. Hardest gwent match was that woman in the Vanilla Gwent tournament quest. Sad i didn't save these 3 matches because it was totally insane with dozens of spy cards.
You are forced to use the Skellige deck in this DLC quest though. Anyway, I finished the tournament quest in Toussaint, was a lot of fun. Just had to play a few practice matches using the Skellige deck with some random inn keeper to get the hang of it.

Just wanted to post this info, in case anyone had the same issue with the 1.20 patch that I did:

I updated to 1.20 (PS4) and got a weird audio bug. The game didn't play any audio when I cast Signs, looted chests/bodies/etc., hit enemies with my sword, completed a quest, gained experience points or gained a level. Some dialogue would also be missing in cutscenes: the character's mouths would move and the dialogue would appear in subtitles, but the words were never spoken.

I tried restarting the game completely (close application and start from the system's menu), and that seems to have fixed the issue. Not sure what went wrong in the first place, but at least it works now.

does not having all the witcher school outfits matter in this dlc? got the feline enhanced once, but never bothered getting the rest of the upgrades or the other outfits. was just too fetch questy.

Ohhh nice. Always want more Gwent and HoS was lacking in a good challenge (Olgierd's deck was a pushover).

Holy crap, Toussaint is so so beautiful. I mean I saw the screenshots, but it's a completely different thing experiencing it yourself. The views, the updated grass, the colors, the knights, the sunny weather, the epic music... man... this is too good.

I didn't really make much progress. Did like half a quest, lol. Was too busy just walking and trotting along on the horse admiring the areas. Should get some decent time to play tomorrow though.

P. S. - Did I mention how awesome the menu screen and music is?!

i started at lvl 40 and am not finding it too easy. if you think enemies are too easy then you can adjust the scaling/game difficulty to suit you.

Playing on normal I didnt and died a few times already to regular mobs...but I hadnt played in months and you have a big fight like real early in this lol...I am level 40,leaving it on default for now.

I was level 40 going in on Blood and Broken bones, and some of the regular mobs are on the more difficult side.
Those fucking plants...
, so I switched it to normal, but the first boss while fun/interesting, was on the easier side, so I may just try and change back when about to fight a boss....

YMMV obviously.

I thought that the first
Boss fight was relatively easy compared to the Toad from Heats of Stone
but anyway i will see how it goes from here and decide

I think I vised every merchant playing 110 hours in the base game. Were you mostly looking at the sky for 50 hours? :P

I feel pretty over-leveled at 39. Thinking about switching over to Death March from Blood and Broken Bones. Is there a major gap between the two difficulties?

I'm not far in, only fought a few bosses, but hundred percent agreed. VERY early spoilers:
The giant at the very beginning felt easy, though damaging. The Shalemar felt like a well designed boss with a fun pattern and design, though I did let my companion guy die and I wonder if it changes anything by doing the boss better. took me a bit to get how to damage it effectively while he was just getting run over. The Bruxa was a literal joke and just exploded when lit on fire basically. The toad was vastly vastly vastly harder than any of these

It's not a bad difference on NG, but some attacks (from harder DLC enemies) can take off huge chunks of health, or flat out kill you if you're the light armor, no bonus health type of build. Death March NG+ seems to give everything tons of health, though. Silly amounts.

Gah Im not sure what to do, I have Witcher 3 on both Xbox and PS4, Im in the final confrontation on the main game to finish it, but In PS4 I havent started but I got the first DLC, So Im not sure if I should buy Blood and Wine for PS4 and starts from scratch or get it from XBOX ONE...

The console versions aren't really any different. What do you value more? The time you'll have to spend re-playing the base game, or the 10 extra dollars you've got to spend to get hearts of stone on Xbox? Whichever is less of a problem for you, go with that imo.

So I still have 1 card in White Orchard I need according to that book that released yesterday. I can't find anyone who is selling it. Am I screwed? Is it no longer available?

This lock-on thing is going to drive me nuts. I removed every mod, verified everything, and still nothing. Doesn't work on the controller, or keyboard. I went back to Velen to test it (make sure it's not a B&W thing) and nope. Guess next is deleting every config/setting file...what a pain.

Experiment with armor dye they said. Don't worry they said. Have fun they said. Then this monstrosity happened and Geralt looks pissed.

So, if you start a game right into B&W with a pre-generated character what sort of equipment do you get?

I'm torn between continuing my 150+ hour PS4 save or just jumping into the PC version with a generated character...I want the graphics and performance improvements, but if I'm not going to have any of my Witcher gear or anything to upgrade forget it.

What have you done?

:(

I'd say stick with your PS4 save. It's more personal to you.

forgot how this game doesn't run amazing on my setup. (3570k 980ti 16gb ram) with hairworks off... major framepacing stuttery noticeable even on a g-sync monitor, 40-70fps at 1440p.

time to look into tweaking stuff. I really should look into a new CPU this year.

Try running Rivatuner Statistics Server with a frame limit set in that program.

For some reason, RTSS's frame cap really helps out with frame pacing. I run that, VSYNC off, and Borderless Window (for triple buffered VSYNC) to get a good experience. Though, with GSYNC you might not need to worry about the last two parts.

The contrast with the harshness of Velen and Skellige is really shocking.
And the palace is so damn gorgeous.

Two questions (playing on PS4):

- My play time seems to be bugged or something in the new UI. When I go to the inventory screen and hit R2, it only shows 13 hours and some odd minutes... Obviously, I've played much longer than this. What gives?

- Are there any quests you can miss in BaW by progressing too far in the main quest line? I'm intrigued by the central plot and was going to play through it before diving into some of the optional stuff, but of course won't do so if I'll be locked out of anything.

Finally managed to complete my Ursine Grandmaster set. Jesus that took a lot of doing. I dyed it red and it looks great.

Is there a preview function so I don't end up looking like I'm from the School of the Gatorade?

I need fanart for this. Preferably sponsored fanart.
