The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Hattori has loads of money. Also, what are the best armours to buy? Playing 'Fashion Witcher' doesn't work as well as it does in Dark Souls because the combat system is worse.

Thanks.

FYI, the alchemist in the city is invaluable for cleaning up your high level recipes. He'll sells manuscripts for recipes you haven't found yet (so if you're missing your missing Superior Insectoid Oil or something he should have it), along with the rare minerals you usually need to craft via White Gull just as an ingredient for those high level recipes.

What city? Thanks

As someone else said you have to examine the roses but then again you won't get anything if you already have the cards.

The cards are Barclay Els and Bruxa I believe.

Yeah, I already examined the roses but didn't get the cards. So I will not be able to have two of the Barclay and Bruxa cards? Then that path sucks, so I'll try the other path in the quest. Thanks!

Played up to where we first fight the
Beast
and got a letter from
Triss
.

Really enjoying it so far. I like how colorful everything looks and Anna Henrietta is really likeable so far.

Whoever voiced the zealot lady near the tourney
"The Gods have sent the BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST as punishment for our sins!"
should get a VA award.

This is the only thing I hate about the expansion right now. That drawn out word in spoilers is infuriating.

GOG galaxy downloaded something and now keeps failing to install when I select blood and wine dlc...sigh havnt been able to play.

I haven't played this since about late last year. Absolutely loved it. My question is though, is the new expansion stuff easy to access once you've downloaded it? Because i remember some dlc missions being really hard to find on notice boards. Also should i just play Hearts of The Stone first?

Is Hearts of stone supposed to be hard ?? i'm level 37 and i got my ass kicked really hard, is Blood and wine also as difficult as HoS ??

HoS is harder than B&W and the base game. The first few major fights are tougher than anything in the base game.

i'd play through HoS first. it's brilliant but much shorter. both expansions are easy to access. you just start them for notice boards like you would a standard secondary quest/contract. the only difference between the expansions is that HoS is unlocked from the beginning as far as i know and you need to progress the main story in the base game rather significantly in order for B&W to unlock.

Yep, HoS has a huge difficulty spike you'll have to get used to. Some bosses are nightmarish to fight... And that's cool as hell

true. i've only died twice so far in B&W.
once during Extreme Cosplay. You're fighting enemies with halberds and 2 sorceresses in a rather enclosed area where you tend to get stuck against things. secondly while fighting a rock troll.

Since this is the last Geralt game we are ever getting. I'm going to make a conscious effort to explore every inch of the map, craft the best great and do every last side quest there is in Blood and Wine.

I beat the main game and did a few more side quest and witcher contracts after completion. Would blood and wine be available from the get go?

Playing on ps4, has axii puppet completed stopped working for anyone else?

mind control was my go-to spell throughout the main game and hearts of stone but ever since installing wine and blood I can't mind control enemies anymore. I'm holding the button down and the camera changes like it always did and then when I let go nothing happens.

Not sure if how to cast the spell changed, or it was nerfed, or bugger, or what.

I've played about 4 hours so far, just unlocked the mutation stuff. Loving it so far. I forgot how much this game just feels like an adventure. Next up, I'm going to find the diagram for my Witcher set, then get those crafted.

Toussaint is amazing so far. I was out in the evening and the sky was a beautiful purple. Can't wait to keep exploring.

Put in a few hours last night, it's nice to be back. Explored most of the map, unlocked various fast travel points and done a few quests.

In comparison to HoS, this is easier. But it's equally, if not better than HoS. I'm liking the book references, luckily i'm far enough to understand them. And i seem to be making more money than i've made throughout the main game, not that it's a bad thing.

Thanks for the heads up. I definitely am needing to boost a few of my oils up to superior but had never found the recipes in base game or HoS.

Fucking thank you for this heads up. Good looking out.

i'm roughly 13 hours in. Main story wise I've only got as far as
fighting the vampire and meeting Regis. He wants me to meet up with him
but I've been focusing on side quests mostly just to get settled in and get familiar with the area. I still have a load of stuff to do! I have been doing mostly the quests up to lvl 38. Not started looking for the grandmaster diagrams yet but have got the new mutation system. I have fully upgraded my house with my armor sets and swords on display. The trophy displays seem to be bugged at the moment unfortunately.

i love that we can play gwent with Basil and choose what deck he uses and how strong it is. As for Skellige cards I have 12/19 cards + the base set. Still trying to get familiar with the new deck. I feel I've spent enough time doing side quests so gonna go back and finish up a quest then start doing the main story again.

Which book features Toussaint? I'm up yo Time of Despair.

lady of the lake, the last one.

Does he sell cave troll livers? Because I've got at least 5 oil recipes I can't complete.

has someone figured out how to (vineyard spoiler)
invite friends over to stay at the guest room?

I read everywhere you can do it, but I don't seen an option neither in the location itself nor with the butler, which makes me think it's locked behind story progression.
Reposting in case someone has figured it out. It'd be silly if people upgrade this and aren't given the option.

amazing how this feels like a whole game for this price ! why cant all paid dlc be like this

dlc feels bigger and prolly is bigger then most 60 dollar games

Played for about 6 hours so far , man what a great expansion this is, the area is so beautiful I ended up trotting on horse taking screenshot every 2 mins yesterday lol.
I also had to stop doing main quest because it was so good and had to do some side quest .

I swear quest in this game never get boring there is always a twist or a little something that make them special .

I will take my time with this dlc since it's the last : /

CDPR make the best damn ending, totally satisfying.

Total major ending spoilers!
My MAIN game ending had Ciri become the empress... But now she is a witcher...
I guess that means it is canon and she will replace Geralt in the next Witcher game

ciri appears in b&w as a witcher?
. you might just be right! i'd like that.

Is there any fix to having lock on disappear?

Also, I am broke, it's pathetic.

Why would you want to use lock in the first place? After like 2 first fights in vanilla game I knew there is no point. At least on the deathmarch. Better to control everything with controller... Unless you play with K&M, then I guess it might be better with lock on...

i prefer it being locked even playing with controller. maybe it's just because i was playing dark souls up until this released so it's a bit of a habit and it's annoying that it doesn't work.

Am I the only one finding Toussaint incredibly easy?

Killed the first two bosses (the
giant and the bruxa
) with ease. 'Dat Rend and those 10K critical hits. Found a small
Archespore
nest, and thought that they were also pretty easy if you use the Golden Oriole, although I like their AI quite a bit.

Does it get more difficult later on? Playing on Death March too. Maybe it's my build...
