The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

I might go with Manticore for the nostalgia. Not sure yet. I'm also not a fan of the Quen abilities. However, the Adrenaline Point gain is so good on the Bear armour though.

I'd recommend keeping the Cat School techniques if you can enchant the Bear armour to be light gear. The bonus to critical hit damage is insane, and means you can often do a Rend worth 10000 damage, which absolutely slays bigger, slower monsters or bosses.

Something I didn't make clear, is that you should probably always use the Troll decoction too. The build sort of revolves around you pushing past the Potion Threshold, which means your health will be draining. For me, the Troll decoction stops this, although some others say that it doesn't. Seems to be 50/50. I also use mending runes in the armour slots for the additional HP regen. Each decoction you drink will give you 1000 extra health, which stacks with skill 'Endure Pain', which increases your HP by 50% if you go past the Potion Threshold.

The build can handle 3 decoctions at the same time, plus 2 potions. With the 4 added slots in B&W, you can add Fast Metabolism to the build, which means you will able to drink more potions quicker, as your potion toxicity will decrease faster (the potions themselves and their effects stay active though) while the decoction toxicity will stay the same, as the two are calculated differently.

In terms of the new super mutagens / synapses, the Euphoria one seems pretty good, and is easily reachable. Metamorphosis also sounds cool. but requires a lot of points to research.

Thanks for the tips!

I need to get the Levity enchantment then, it sounds very powerful.

Also, I noticed in your build you picked Poisoned Blades in Alchemy, personally I went with the first one Heightened Tolerance which increases the overdose threshold from 75% to 100%, and increases potion time by 25% as opposed to 5% with Poisoned Blades. Just wondering why you picked Poisoned Blades when Heightened Tolerance seems to be what this build could benefit from? Or are you intentionally not going for the higher tolerance in order to proc Endure Pain?

This might be a PS4 only issue, but if you go to 1 of the
bandit fortress things
and you agro everything the sheer amount of enemies just crashes the game. I've tested it 3 times and it's crashed everytime when I'm in the middle of killing them all.

I don't know. Not having enough money can be frustrating but at the same time it's one of the things that make the game what it is.Maybe only to craft all the new Grandmaster armours after you finish the game

I mean speaking of quests breaking, on ps4 in the tourney questline theres a point you gotta fight a
panther
in the wild and the guy wouldn't aggro he'd just stand there looking at me and I couldn't fight it.

I fixed it by running away and running back once the quest marker changed, which triggered the cutscene.

Speaking of this questline kudos on cdpr for having the attractive female many thought (tourney side quest spoilers)
you'd bang, not be the romance in the game and actually leave without owing anything to even the guy who hired you to help her
. Felt like the most eye opening moment for me in the series given their love for the ladies.

I have been there earlier and there's so many of them. It's absurd, even though in the end it's not that hard to do.You'll end up hitting a bunch of them with each swing.

I get what you are saying but think about it for a little longer. Most of us are done the game. Not Blood and Wine but the actual main game and HoS. I don't for a second expect to have all grandmaster sets and my home place maxed out.. But come the frig on. They know the money sink they put in HoS.. so they should know how to properly balance prices and income for an expansion that requires a whole fuck ton of money. It's pretty disappointing and honestly a major oversight on their part.

listening to the Title Screen music on loop

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcbds6KrA4k

so good while working and anticipating playing again tonight...

I like the plot a lot but the story hasn't quite captured me as much as HOS did primarily because I find the characters and story less intriguing... hard to compare with the 'the wishes' and both Attaman and Master Mirror. But what it makes up for that with is the new region and gameplay content.

Bosses have been fun but that 3rd boss was sure a pain in the ass
because of Palmerin's dumb AI... I had times where I had the boss down to 20% with Palmerin not even hurt, and then he goes and stands beside it while it does that AOE attack and he gets absolutely destroyed. Wasn't a hard boss but it was tricky to keep that idiot from dying hehe though when I finally did keep him alive, I do so without him even being hurt at all lol https://youtu.be/7KqAYOl708M?t=4091

I'll save more detailed story discussion until after I finish but I'm about 8-10 hours in about to (vague description)
attack a castle for reasons
after
attending a soiree
, and my general feeling so far is
that the plot is cool but i was expecting more... political intrigue... more Eyes Wide Shut or high court politics. The character, including the Duchess, and the story is a lot more... basic and down to earth than I was hoping out of 'royals and vampires.' Still fun, just not what I expected. But that last soiree was interesting and what I just learned from the Duchess and why I'm going to the castle is promising, too
.

Eh, 'romance' in the traditional sense in this DLC doesn't exist at all, given the actual chick that Geralt can bang. No feels, just fucking.

Well you know what i meant haha.

If anything they should have found a way to give a substantial role to the main romance ladies, considering many people haven't played the title since last year so this send off is more appropriate for that group.

Been trying to take it slow, only doing a few side objectives during the few short lulls in between the main questline... Don't want it to end. ;_;

So,
Orianna's the Bruxa or Alp from the Night to Remember trailer, right? Hope there's a contract that reenacts the entire thing; that'd be neat.

sent a tweet to CDPR about the camera and targeting issue. It seems no one else is having these? I really hope they can be fixed because its hampering my ability to play.

Man, I don't think I've ever scored this high before. I kept getting decoys and spies and it got out of hand.

It also showed to me how nasty that Skellige deck can be in the right hands.

hehe

Hello, my name is Geralt and I have a gwent problem.

That gwent tournament was fun. No ability to save between the matches could be harsh for some players, but I managed it pretty good on my first try.

The Skellige deck is fun to play. Different playstyle just like every other deck.

I was also disappointed with the options that CDProjekt gave, I wanted someone that Geralt had a history with, and also give us the choice to invite our main love interest over to your room for some Gwent and chill.

hehe

Loved the quest. It ended up being a very fun time. It auto saves between matches though, so you just need to reload if you lose.
like me ;-;

I've been googling everywhere to find out the question I had for the guestroom addition. Found info from folks in the cdpr forum

To those curious I'll keep it as spoiler light as possible but basically
any guest appearances are after the cutscene finishing the main campaign. Including the romance from the main game
.

I'm level 41 and I'm hunting down the Feline Grandmaster set and holy shit,
the bandits at the ruins are tough as fuck. And there's 100's of em! It's a bit Far Cry-like with the base mechanic
.

Nope, you're gonna be broke by the second set...lol. I only crafted the Manticore armor and that alone was 12,000 orens not including the dimeritium ore and plates I needed to craft as well. The other grandmaster sets required multiple crafting components that you'll likely have to buy from that blacksmith for thousands of orens because their components are so rare and hard to find in Toussaint.

The White Orchard money glitch is pretty easy to do. I only loaded up that blacksmith with 10,000 orens because he drops whatever amount of orens he last had each time he dies.
Kill him 4-5 times, and you have yourself 40,000-50,000 orens.

Just realized I have tons of relic weapons and armor in my stash, selling them will fetch an easy 30k :)

So you're telling me you can't even get close to a full set grandmaster gear with 12k? Jesus what do they expect after HoS. They put in a huge gold and crafting mat sink with the runecrafting. FFS I even ignored runecrafting, picked up and sold every piece or armor or weapon and only have 12k going into Blood and Wine at level 40.

It has been asked many times already but is there any ways to make decent money in Blood and Wine? the housing seems like it could be a sink on top of all that. I'm still only 1-2 hours in so I have no idea really.

Sell your crafting and alchemical materials you no longer need. They are worth a lot of money. That is what I did to make my Grandmaster set.

My god. Haven't come very far into the story yet but i've started doing something i didn't do through out the whole W3 main campaign and HOS. I've started pressing square during dialogue scenes to skip them. Don't know if it's the annoying dialects, or lackluster characters but i'm just not getting pulled into the story like before

Maybe i should just take a rest and play another day hopefully more

Taking this expansion slow is an absolute pleasure. Liked the vibe of the Count Beledal
photograph
quest. Really different vibe to the rest of the game.

I've got a question for those who've beat it and I'll do this as spoiler free as I can. I'm looking for the wine right now, how far am I if you could put a percent to it?

didn't think the encounters could get worse after HoS but my god this sucks.

why did they have to change combat from the main game

Holy shit Extreme Cosplay sucks.

Yup. That weird
fire bolt
attack that seems to hit instantly with no wind up was some straight up BS. I used axii on the
knights
and they took care of the
mages
eventually. Took a while to get down between being one shot.

Did stuff get more expensive between the original release and today? I've just noticed in my replay that the complete Temerian Armor DLC set at Lvl 4 is almost 1'000 crowns, while all the guides have it listed at around 600 crowns. Did CDPR adjust item pricing in a patch? I'm completely broke now :-/

The Grandmaster stuff shouldn't take that much to craft, unless you start from scratch (ie Normal>Enhanced>>>>all the way to Grandmaster) A good way to alleviate the costs is to go into people's homes in the wealthy section of he main city in Toussaint and look for jewelry with "Green Gold" in its name and disassemble it. If you do enough exploring you will come across unrefined copper and some other metal, these 2 metals+ the green gold make Orichalcum ore, which is the main ingredient for the Enriched Dimeritium stuff. As long as you have the Dimeritium stuff already, this is an easy way to cut the price way down for the Grandmaster stuff. The only other thing that might be costly is The Infused "w/e" Hide if you don't have the Infused crystals to make it.

P.s, I might've spelled some of the things wrong, and once again if you start from the base gear it will definitely cost around 30k+. If you are going from Mastercrafted>Grandmaster, if you do exploring+use tips I listed above you can probably knock the cost down to around 10-15k per set.
Edit: Other metal is Hunk of Nickel. 4 Green Gold dust's, 3 Unrefined Coppers and 1 Hunk of Nickel make Orichalcum ore.

Holy shit Extreme Cosplay sucks.

this . i went in expecting a silly story. got my ass kicked ^^"

mhhh to use the money exploit or not... i am broke after crafting the manticore set and enchanting it ... i need the money for geralts crib hehe.

Don't want to read/look up anything and stay fresh, so I just have 1 quick question. I know about the house you can get. Can somebody tell me when/where?

I wanna do all question marks and side quests before I continue with main quest stuff like I always do, but I'd like the house to mess around with.

So far the only main mission stuff I've done is
look at the murder site under water and then asked where the men went at the inn
only done side stuff and question marks besides that.

A few more main missions after that, I think it's 2-3 more

You pretty much get it and the nextish mission. Really early on.

The lock-on not working? I sent support a save file the other day.

I have to say that I'm having the most fun with Witcher combat ever. It feels like stamina regen is faster or something, so it's fast paced, and I'm using all tools available.

Still wish they added new abilities to the trees. I don't think ive touched my ability setup since... about 20 hours before I finished the main game.

Well... Us DLC won't work on my Latin American copy of the game.

Was super excited about this but I guess no DLC for me.

Seriously , fuck region locked DLC. Why is this even a thing?
