They will be doing that PS Experience where I live for the first time, put my name on the list and now I play the waiting game to see if I'm in.

Dat backlash if Crash isn't happening. Quite a trap Sony have gotten themselves into (partially because of their own doings). Everyone on the internet now takes Crash for granted. Imagine if, even worse, their returning mascot turns out to be Knack :lol.

Considering Knack 2 is known to be in development, you might not be far off.

Made a little gif in anticipation of the Crash announcement:

If it isn't, I don't understand why they'd pull these shenannigans. That teaser in the PS4 trailer, Layden wearing a Crash shirt, the easter egg in UC4. Makes no sense to do all if they weren't actually hinting at anything other than to be total jerks to their audience.

Because the output was slow and the games weren't selling? I dunno, there was probably a good reason for shutting down Studio Liverpool. It hurt to see that team laid off, and it hurt even more to see the PS4 launch without a WipEout title, but they must have been underperforming to a large degree.

The death of futuristic racers in general has got me really crestfallen.

We must re-educate the masses.

Is Crash Bandicoot really a good game or are people just hankering for the next "dream" announcement? Seems like it just came out of nowhere. (I played it when I was younger and don't remember it at all)

Thanks for the answers.

At the time it was only ever alright, no one I knew went gaga for it, it was all about Zelda, Mario, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Goldeneye, Banjo etc.

I'm all for platformers, especially on PS4 but Crash just never seemed like an interesting enough character or series to revive.

All four of the Naughty Dog games were critically acclaimed and sold (and continue to sell) big. People are pining for the days when Crash was a legit PlayStation mascot, so no, I don't think it's manufactured hype at all.

People will attempt to revise history but Crash has critically and commercially successful games.

So yes, the games can be seen as good/really good.

The are amazing games....well the ones ND did anyway
There is a reason Crash 1-3 are at the top of the monthly and yearly PSN game sales charts

Let's play a drinking game where we count how many people will tend to write off the Crash games as "not good" and "a product of its time".

You'll be seeing yourself having 50 fingers.
