Pokémon Sun & Moon | Info and speculation thread

Those are fake, a bit tryhard on concept art. They forget most concept art aren't busy.

Sycamore WISHES he was that hot.

Well, in the anime circles he is a popular gay pairing with Clemont's Dad/Blaziken Mask (that handshake of complicated feeling) and Lysandre ("We must sully the professor's name!") that they want a threesome with them.

What's so special about Lillie? She looks extra boring compared to other rivals.

Are we just running with her because she's tsundere?

What I find most interesting about her is that her bag seems more fitted for adventuring than the FMC's purse.

And gosh, I thought up a perfect Litten nickname, so good that I'm willing to stab Rowlet in the back and go with the cat :(

Those evos look actually good, Litten becoming the pokemon version of the old Tiger Mask manga/anime would be the only way I'd accept yet another Fire/Fightning starter.

Too bad they are probably fake.

Both trainers have a very heavy Aqua/Magma team theme going on, I could actually see them being the offsprings of that grunt couple in ORAS, could actually go with the whole "japanese person living in Hawaii" theme that japanese ad had going, not to mention those Johto inspired buildings on one of the islands.

A bit worried about the whole "synchro" gem stuff, not sure I'd like that, we'll see.

I've seen this floating around a few places. That Rowlet evo is sweet, but I hope it's fake due to Litten and Poplio's evos being garbage.
The "Confidential" tag really sells it for me you guys.

Also Fire/Fighting Litten evolution, such a bad mistake, it has to be real.

So Sunsteel Strike... is it possible it's a dual type move like Flying Press? Both Fire and Steel?

Same with Moongeist Beam, it could be a psychic and ghost move.

I highly doubt that for Sunsteel Strike, as it hit Salamence for neutral damage. Also, despite the fact that the Salamence had an HP IV of 0 (and likely 0 for Defense too), OHKOing Salamence is no small feat with whats likely no item. A friend of mine on Smogon did a calc, and it looks likely that Steelsun Strike is a 120 BP STAB (probably Steel considering the name) coming from around base 150 Atk. Could be 140 BP too, but I think 120 BP is more likely. BTW, looking at Solgaleo's HP Stat from the trailer, its base HP is probably anywhere from base 137 to base 152 o_O

Considering the name, I imagine Moongeist Beam is a Ghost-type move as well. Really hope Lunala is one fast mofo. I think Solgaleo's typing is pretty good for Ubers, but Lunala's typing is pretty bad defensively. If its fast though, throwing around a 120 BP Ghost-type move is pretty serious stuff that could make up for the lame defensive typing!

I hope we see some new Pokémon when Treehouse demos the game at E3. Seems likely, although it's possible they may just encounter past-gen Pokemon.

I've always hated it. Blaziken reminds me of a digimon
I don't really like vanilla Blaziken, but his Mega is so sleek, with a great color scheme to boot. A huge improvement, imo.

You prefer scowling idiots?

Love that being chill and liking snacks automatically means someone has to be dumb btw.
Scowling idiots are fun to beat, leaving Blue speechless when you shatter his dreams, love it. Silver actually learned from his repeated ass whoopings and stopped being a scowling idiot.

Wally? I just felt bad for that kid, the other person was a non entity. I barely remember the other rivals.

I can already feel we're going back to another region. I don't care if it's Johto or Kalos. This is what made gen 2 so amazing. Either way gen 2 or Kalos would get their environments remade!

If there's some kind of return to Kalos, I could see them keeping the same models from XY, only updating the npcs. In fact, It'd be the only way we'd get two regions here (or ORAS Hoenn). It'd be post-game, so I don't think they'd be very worried about the graphical quality suddenly going down compared to the main game.

Yes, I am aware which is why I am respectfully disagreeing.

-Team Flare were lame and just felt like a Team Rocket knock off as they seemed to be interested in making money.

They had some weird plan to cut down on the human population and kill all Pokemon in order to eliminate the excess of living beings and the strife that comes from the battle for resources, creating a new and beautiful world. It's only revealed near the ending though. Afterwards, for some reason, every random npc in Snowbelle seems to have learned about his plans and make some comments about it.

Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam are named Meteor Drive and Shadow Ray in Japan so that's likely where their typing comes from. I feel like the site would've mentioned if they were dual type moves because it isn't a new concept.

That was Lysandre's plan, the rest of Team Flare was only interested in gathering more wealth ad power for themselves, even through the destruction of humanity. Also, as you admit, Lysandre's bit was only tacked on at the very end.

Lysandre was the leader though. It's not like we're talking about a random administer here.

Just noticed they've removed the images of the type names that were previous on the starter Pokemon page aka the images that were used to find the unused Ground and Fighting type images...

I played through X/Y and really enjoyed it. Is it worth playing through Ruby/Sapphire or should I just wait for Sun/Moon?

If you enjoyed XY you'll probably enjoy ORAS too. You might have just enough time to play it and still be able to take a little break before Sun/Moon, although itll likely be better the fresher you keep the experience. Might get burnt out on the engine playing them all in sequence like that

Robin Hoot is the only passable one. Biker Litten and Mermaid Popplio are absolutely terrible.

I guess they're better than those horrific ones from before, though.

Completely agree.

If they ever ditch mega evolution for some reason, I hope they retcon Mega Blaziken's design as the male gender difference for Blaziken. Instead of the current longer head feathers design.

I liked the previous fake leaks, especially the middle stages added later.

It's kind of odd that no one seems to be even bothering to "leak" any "mega" versions of the new starters though. I hope we don't get another situation where the starters are missing mega/synchro/whatever equivalent is introduced by Sun/Moon.

Popplio's last stage here is a digimon and the other two just get bigger.

So what do people think the gym types will be? I think it would be interesting to share no types with the XY leaders.

1) Normal
2) Flying
3) Poison
4) Fire
5) Ghost
6) Dragon
7) Steel
8) Water

I don't know...I like when some of the starters "just get bigger" instead of taking a minor-major detour from the base evo. Charizard, Feraligatr, Serperior <3

It's been 6 gens and we STILL don't have a dark gym leader or a 3 stage pure dark family lol.

I haven't been this excited for a Pokemon game since the original lead-up to generation 5.

I really hope we have 120+ new Pokemon this time. Too few in X/Y, and not very high quality - especially considering it came after a gen as good as 5. Killed a lot of my enthusiasm for it.

A dark type gym is long overdue.

It's all I ask for a gym nowadays.

I didn't put Dark in for that reason lol. The fact that it's called Evil type in Japan makes me think GF is just reserving it for E4 members.
