Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 reviews and benchmarks

argh, overclockers showing some Gigabyte G1 in stock but its £609, vs £559 that I preordered from Amazon. Need to hold out in the hope that gigabyte will supply amazon soonish..

£608, is this a fair price? Can't remember what EBuyer was selling them for now...

no - its £559 at amazon. It is their basic card, and you shouldn't be paying nearly FE prices for it. They're making £50 off you becuase they have early stock.

really tempting though. Been without a GPU for 2 weeks now

Yeah just seen it on Amazon, fuck that. I'll continue to wait for reasonable prices.

Any word when Gigabyte Xtreme will release?

hey guys,

do GTX 1080 have the same measurements for custom coolers like the 980 TI or would a custom 980TI cooler also fit on the GTX 1080?

What does the SC stands for in the EVGA SC card?

Can't be worse than FTW I assume?

Superclocked. It's a reference board that is overclocked from the factory. It's the same card as their non-SC-1080 which is cheaper, just overclocked. Which you can do yourself.

I'm super salty about Newegg randomly throwing those Gigabyte cards up for sale at like 6 PM PST yesterday after Gigabyte advertised 6/7! 6/7! 6/7! on newegg! for days. I was all prepped and ready to snag one this morning or midnight PST. Of course there are scalpers on ebay all ready selling them for $750 plus.

Didn't Newegg sell them for $720?

I caved in and pre-ordered a G1 on Amazon UK for delivery to Spain. Even paying in GBP it's cheaper for me than paying in EUR. Now I have to wait until Amazon gets the stock and hopefully sends one card my way...

... or until some local stores get the G1 and I can buy it here. Whatever happens first.

I messaged Gigabyte on FB on when we'd be getting news about stock on vendors other than Amazon. Haven't heard anything back yet.

On one hand, I'm bummed that Amazon will evidently not be shipping cards on the 7th... but on the other, saving ~USD$40 (more still if you factor in Newegg's higher international shipping costs) is nothing to sneeze at.

I think you'll find that $720 is the RRP given the seller/store in question is Newegg. Unless Newegg has some sort of history of gouging?

Is this confirmed?

Look what I got. :D

Im pissed that NCIX processed my order before they had any stock of SC's. Isnt the usual situation to only process the order when they ship the product or it is in their warehouse/store to be processed for pickup?

How does the G1 compare to the SC?

Just ordered a Palit GeForce GTX 1080 GameRock Premium. It is in stock in germany so should be here this week.

I hope its not that loud. :(

Is this confirmed?

GUSA's Twitter account categorically stated the 7th as the release date only to clarify at the last minute that just Newegg would be getting stock on the 7th. I and others have a G1 pre-ordered on Amazon but the status remains at "Little more time".

That being said, Amazon accepted pre-orders of the G1 at $611 versus Newegg's $649, so there may be a silver lining, especially for AU importers such as myself.

Somethings wrong here.
Computerbase measured 44db @ load. The measured 33db. 11db is a hell of a difference...

dB measurements have any meaning only when compared in the same testing environment. You can't just compare them between different reviews.

But still, their result seems to be rather low when compared to other cards on their chart. 980TiXtreme is one of the quietest 980TiOCs and it's supposedly louder than Strix? Not saying that this is impossible but we need a third opinion.
