Haha fair enough.
I wish it would have been explained like you did when there was so much buzz about it or maybe I just missed it.
About these results though, it shows improved framerates but only at 1080p can we not expect the same improvements at higher resolutions down the road?

If you think about it, that result is perfectly in line with what I just explained. At lower resolutions you are automatically more CPU-heavy (since the GPU workload shrinks while the CPU workload stays the same).

Is this confirmed or scuttlebutt?
seems like the SC but without the factory overclock (which you can do yourself anyway). So it'd be a reference board with a custom cooler on. Seems a decent choice
Original ETA by a lot of stores. At least around here it got pushed back to 28th and later.

Yeah, I think I'll probably wait a couple weeks but keep my eye on them just so I don't miss any deals etc.

Both the EVGA SC and the ASUS Strix got into my shopping cart but were removed 
I was supposed to get an Asus Strix yesterday. First they said it was delayed, then they said, there's only 3 incoming, then 15, then 3, then that they have no idea.
So I'm trying to jump on any custom card I see, so I can finally start using my Vive for more than a few Lab demos
Ugh the price gouge on the MSI Gaming X is crazy. That would be the one I'd get but now I'm think I'm better off getting the 1070 version when prices calm down and then trade up to the 1080 Ti whenever it releases.

Ugh. Why is MSI so expensive on Newegg? Guess I'll wait for EVGA. Thought I'd go with MSI for consistency with mobo, but I'm never going to look inside the damn thing.

My 1440 144hz gsync monitor arrives today and Newegg has shipped my msi gtx 1080 to arrive Wednesday. Hype!
I contacted B&H's customer service live chat regarding the order I placed for the EVGA 1080 FTW, and got this estimate:

My local MC has one of the Seahawks in stock. I wonder how long it will last at $850. Makes me wonder what the EVGA Hybrid will cost.
Exact thing happened to me yesterday.
so of course I get a 'sorry we missed you' notification as soon as I'm 10 minutes away from my house. Didnt' leave it with a friendly neighbour so I just wait until some time tomorrow and try again. Annoying because I could have installed it before the kids are home and tomorrow we'll be doing family stuff so will probably miss it again.
Do what I always do. Leave a signed note on the door. They always leave it and take the note when I do it.

Stick with it. It took me almost an hour to snipe one of the MSI cards. I also got a cancellation and many "removed from cart"s. Eventually, I snagged one though.
It can no longer be added to cart. For any of the ones that popped up earlier. The grind continues.

Yep. It will go in/out of stock very quickly.
What I did was install the Google Chrome add-on called "Auto Refresh Plus". Have it refresh every x amount of seconds and have it alert you if the words "OUT OF STOCK" no longer appear. Then the race is on.
That was my method anyways.

I've been saving my pennies and convinced myself I was going to get a 1070, but now that I'm actually ready to pull the trigger, I find myself thinking, "what's another $200 to get the best GPU on the market?"

For me it was benchmarks. I have a 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor and didn't want to have to downgrade settings to get 60+ frames on new games.

OK- the answer you're probably looking for: that Inno Ichill one might be the quietest. I can't find the link, but there was a video in this thread a day or two ago that pitted it against two of the other AIB's (the Strix and either the GB or the MSI) and it seemed to be much quieter under load.

it was also about 10c hotter so the fan curves weren't being compared equally really.
