Don't you do this to me...

I think he means that they're too busy for Banjo. But if he meant that they're busy as in it's possible...

My god.

I could see it being nothing. But I also remember that picture of a banjo tweeted out by a Rare member last year. Or two years ago?

Anyway, yeah.

it still amazes me how many folks think T10 are the main minds behind Horizon when they say how amazing it is lol.

Playground is the king of open world racers this gen....and H2's soundtrack was fucking fantastic. Hoping Rob is back for the OST again.

Turn 10 only built most of the engines it's built on.

Did anybody see this tweet about Banjo Kazooie by Phil Spencer from a few days ago?

Don't do this to yourself....

I'm sure it's already been discussed but it seems Horde has been confirmed via a retailer listing.

Provided it's true, and it's not not much of a surprise given what's been said already, it's great to finally get confirmation.

I wonder if we'll see it at E3 or Gamescom.

Wait a minute WAIT A MINUTE, Why did he mention Rare? Whats the point? Who mentioned Rare? The guy didnt mention Rare? Who said Rare?

Fishy. Very fishy.

I just wanted to bring it up because I know a lot of people are hoping for Banjo (including me ofc), and Phil almost never mentions the franchise in his tweets.

No I didnt mean you lol!
I meant Phil, why bring up Rare when the original tweeter didnt even namedrop Rare
Jesus its that PR web again

Its either

1. Rare is busy and cant do it, its not happening, have a courtesy tweet though
2. As you knowww *nudge nudge* Rare is very bussyyy *nudge*
3. Well Rare cant do it, but...

In the hype thread, every tweet means something, every tweet means nothing

As a fellow Banjo, I'm sure you'd agree: they should make N64-sized HD sequels for digital and call it a day. They don't need to make high budget versions, I'd be ultra happy if we got $30 Banjo-Kazooie, or Rare games in general, every year or two.

I have a feeling H5 Story-mode could of been great if they didn't change somethings SMH

Between Hunt the Truth and the dark under tone of that as well as things like that teaser thing, the story could have gone some great places. I love that Blue Team finally got pulled in but damn what a missed opportunity with how little we got to see them.

I got such a feeling whatever has escaped the leaks is going to blindside us hard

Theres just some stuff that has to be locked down incredibly

Aw crap you're right

One tab open this year, the stream, i'm Alcatraz-ing my E3 viewing experience.

Not me, I'm full on just watching the show. The only thing that I'll have open is my work window. My TV will be streaming on the Xbox. I want no more spoilers. I'm staying away from gaf. But I'll tweet like a mofo (@woelfel) with my hypeness. LOL. All the hype is waiting for ReCore gameplay.

My hype is a bit deflated the past few days. Fuck.=/ Hopefully E3 picks me back up, but at the moment I'm really, really worried that Xbox doesn't have a future. I can't tell you whether or not these thoughts are rational. I've just gamed on Xbox since 2007 and I want to continue doing so.

#1 Remedy announcing they have a new partner, they have two new games and neither is Alan Wake 2. They are possibly breaking their relationship with Microsoft. Either way, they confirmed they won't be at E3, they won't be at Gamescom, and they won't announce their games anymore until they're closer to release. So we could spend the next two years having NO idea what one of Microsoft's best 1st/2nd-party studios is doing. And just like that Microsoft's stable of first-party franchises becomes less interesting. I just have a feeling Remedy is going to make their next game PS4 exclusive.

#2 Microsoft making almost all their exclusives available on PC. I used to have the attitude "No big deal, doesn't bother me, as long as I get to play those games on XB1 I'm good, and the more people that can enjoy these games the better".

Microsoft's PC ports have sucked by all accounts though. Problems everywhere. Is there anything a Win10 game does as well as a Steam game? I'm not talking better - just as well as Steam?

I don't play on PC, so why should I care right? But we hear about Rise of the Tomb Raider selling PC 98% of its copies on Steam and only 15,000 copies on Win10. We hear about how there are so many needless restrictions. Can't do mods. No gsync support. Optimization and performance problems. Non-informative storefront. No ability to digitally pre-load games. And whatever else I can't think of from the top of my head since I don't actually play on PC.

Look at Quantum Break - one of the best games ever made in my eyes. But the game was obviously rushed to PC. The only way to play 1080p on Quantum Break PC is to multiply 1080p by 3 then divide by 2, then choose whatever THAT resolution is and you'll play at 1080p. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's a byproduct of the 720p temporal projections they're doing on XB1 correct? The XB1 version is a masterful technical tour de force given the limitations of the XB1 hardware - the way they used those 720p temporal projections to produce a beautiful image is fantastic. But they ported over that needless technique/technology to the PC version. Why would the PC version, which can run the game natively at 1080p implement this same technique?

My point is, Microsoft's Windows 10 PC ports have been a disaster. I am just worried that they are going to pull the plug on the Win10 gaming initiative, and then pull the plug on Xbox as a whole. I don't have the confidence that Satya Nadella cares about Xbox. To me it looks like he is leveraging Microsoft's wonderful 1st party exclusive software in a half-hearted attempt to bolster Windows 10's gaming store. And that initiative is failing miserably, to the detriment of Xbox fans.

I would feel way more confident if their PC ports were fantastic and consumer-friendly. In my eyes all I see is negative word of mouth for my brand of choice which doesn't help inspire any confidence.

#3 Closing Lionhead. Ending relationship with Twisted Pixel (they made some of the BEST first-party exclusives last gen in Splosion Man and Ms. Splosion Man). Closing Press Play (they made two EXCELLENT puzzle games this gen - Max and Kalimba).

I just needed to get that off my chest. There are tons of things that I feel will be legitimately awesome about this E3. Recore, Sea of Thieves, Gears 4, Cuphead, indie games in general (absolutely love indies on Xbox One), Crackdown 3, Halo Wars 2, Battletoads, possibility of a new Rare IP, a new Dead Rising set in winter/Christmas, and new hardware. I just have some seeds of doubt which sucks.

Not a single one of us can tell the future, all im gonna do is watch the show and if anything amazing is shown, ill just completely bathe in the moment, thats what all the E3 shows are about, its christmas for gamers. Have fun, worry about what happens when and if it happens you know?

I want a surprise game.

I'm still not super convinced Sea of Thieves and Recore are this year either... hope my concerns are allayed though.

I think Scalebound being a 2017 games bodes really well for 1 of those being a 2016 game to go with Gears 4. I do expect one of them to be an early 2017 game.

Oh, sorry! lol

But yeah I agree. He never answers tweets about that franchise, and then he does it two weeks before E3. Either he's trying to lower our expectations, or...

I agee completely. I just need that promised Banjo Threeie so I can move on,
And wait 16 years for Banjo Fourie

They need to step it up a gear or two.

I'm not too fussed about most things people seem to get upset about in this crazy industry we all love apart from when they decide to close a studio and Microsoft have closed two of my favourites in Lionhead and Press Play.

Time to really double down on just making great games and E3 is all about showing us these games and getting us excited for what the next two years might bring.

Choo Choo :)

Because it's a Rare game and they were talking about Banjo.

Man if theres anything to go from, just remember everything from E3 2009-2013

Now look at E3 2014-now

Upwards trajectory anyone?

Just think about Scorpio, 6tf, free multiplayer, slim, Eco system, so many games, all the first party making new IP, don't be afraid to dream.

I think Xbox as a brand is in transition currently. The long-term effects won't show for a while, and I think this year will be like every other year, just with some of the exclusives showing up on PC as well, either at the same time or a few months later.

The news that Rise of the Tomb Raider had 98% of its PC sales on Steam makes me wonder if their Xbox One/PC plan might be a little flawed unless they become a little more flexible with releasing on Steam.

But as a console player, I don't think they're doomed. They may not be doing as well as they thought, but for me it has to do with the games. I play on Xbox One in the fall almost entirely because their fall line-up is always the best, but then the rest of the year is fairly dry. 2017 looks like it might be different for that, which would be nice.

Like I said about Rare needing to make smaller games, I think Microsoft Game Studios as a whole has to do that, as well. The big tentpole releases are always a big hit, but they need some smaller games for the gaps. But I think Xbox is in good shape, just... in transition.

I agee completely. I just need that promised Banjo Threeie so I can move on,

Same here. As much as I loved Nuts and Bolts, I need to press that A button more!

My biggest fear is that they won't have a lot of surprises.

That´s kind of hard to say.

Most surprises will probably be in the form of CGI trailers for new games (e.g. Recore last year). Once a game is in a state for showing gameplay it´s almost certainly leaking somewhere ;-)

But who knows. Maybe they have a studio somewhere which made Halo 3 Anniversary or Gears 2 Ultimate ready for a summer release :D

There is also the platform side which brought us BC last year absolutely nobody expected. I still think they will announce 1-2 big new OS features nobody expects.

But I also think Sony has is easier there. Their Japanese developers seem more tight and they give really absolutely no hints at all before an E3.

My biggest hope for E3 is that they do something like this again:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTx9-ohAeWo

Yes, absolutely glorious :D

There is four chronicled ages of the Xbox

The Xbox of Original (2001AD-2005AD)
The Ascension of the 360 (2005AD-2009AD)
The Dark Age of Kinect (2009AD-2013AD)
The XBone Absolution (2014AD-?)

All the loops and turns are fascinating, and E3 is usually where it happens

This is factually wrong.

Rise of the Tomb Raider on UWP runs as good or better then the Steam version.

The 98% number is from a rumor from a disgruntled Lionhead employee who has either been proven wrong or statements make no sense so that 98% number could be completely fake.

They aren't restrictions, they are just features not released yet but we know are coming which include g-sync and mod support.

PC Ports have all been a disaster?
Forza Motorsport 6 Apex - Fantastic
Killer Instinct - Fantastic
