Microsoft hasn't had any "bombshells" since FF13 for me, IMO.

They need a, "one more thing", badly.

In terms of video games, bombshells have traditionally never been Microsoft's style. They prefer to take a solid and consistent approach to their conferences in showcasing and introducing games.

I agree, which is why despite Sonys year of dreams, I think they still had the better conference (albeit not as fun and exciting).

They play it "safe", IMO and don't do anything that creates a LOT of buzz like Sony.

It all seems so, robotic, by the numbers, and slow sometimes.

Not saying they suck, they've def. had 3 years of great games lineups, but there's no WOW factor.

I'm thinking back to last year's conference. We didn't know anything about Gears Ultimate or Rare Replay before E3 2015 right? Then they get announced and released within a couple of months! Rare Reply in July, Gears Ultimate in August? I really hope that we have some games that we currently have no idea about, which we get to play in July/August... would be really neat.

This is factually wrong.

Rise of the Tomb Raider on UWP runs as good or better then the Steam version.

The 98% number is from a rumor from a disgruntled Lionhead employee who has either been proven wrong or statements make no sense so that 98% number could be completely fake.

They aren't restrictions, they are just features not released yet but we know are coming which include g-sync and mod support.

PC Ports have all been a disaster?
Forza Motorsport 6 Apex - Fantastic
Killer Instinct - Fantastic

Fair points. For PC games "features not yet released" may as well be a restriction. When they have a platform like Steam that does all of that stuff, they have no reason to accept those missing features. MS should have maybe delayed their PC initiative until they had all those things ready perhaps.

I think their PC initiative has been bad and maybe even terrible, but you're right, there have been gems, like Forza Apex, Killer Instinct, and Tomb Raider had good performance like you suggested. I think the bad outweights the good.

Bear in mind that hype monsters =/= the point, really. In a weird way some gamers almost like hype more than playing the damn games...

The fabled 'year of dreams' meant jackshit to me, as I care not for Shenmue, FF7 was fine but srsly, get over it, and TLG was 'about fucking time'. So you might want to ignore me ^^

Give me games coming soon, rumoured fan favourites, pyrotechnics, shouting and enthusiasm

Example: DO YOU WANT TO PLAY JET FORCE GEMINI TODAY?! *car blows up* YEAAAH

Not: Young Blinx will come out at some point, okay next game

I hope this new slim model looks sexy as hell and does indeed do 4K video. I don't mind if it is white and i'm hoping that you will be able to set it vertically again like the 360. I'm also very curious as to what little changes they've made to the controller. Damn I can't wait til monday. :)

Thinking about it more and more, these are the items that I'm most excited for this Monday:

1) Recore game play finally being shown. Fingers crossed for Metroid- Prime-like game play.

2) Sea of Thieves + Rare is rumoured to show a new IP

3) XXX or YYY surprise. There's guaranteed to be some crazy thing we don't know about yet... Monday can't come soon enough.

I was a debbie downer on the last page but I'm still excited for E3 regardless. Here is my updated list of what to expect this E3:

Agreed.

Very solid conferences but they just lack that extra "oomph" or flair. Something that would be completely out of left field.

As you said, that isn't necessarily a bad thing though.

So Twisted Pixel (former 1. party) will announce their next game during YouTube Live at E3.
Will be interesting to see if Microsoft dropped another ball.

So, Geoff posted the schedule for youtube's streaming on monday, a lot of nice tidbits there:

https://medium.com/@geoffkeighley/youtube-live-at-e3-schedule-monday-832c487b984a#.b41i9bjh1

YouTuber StampyLonghead comes by live, and we get an update on Mass Effect: Ascension from BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn. Adult Swim Games visits, and we’re joined by iJustine, Nadeshot, CaptainSparkelz and more. Plus, at 3:30 PM, Geoff is joined by a very special surprise guest. Trust you: You don’t want to miss this.

7–7:30 PM: Xbox — Beyond the Briefing
Only YouTube takes you beyond the Xbox briefing with a special half-hour of Xbox news and announcements. First Xbox executive Shannon Loftis stops by to chat with Geoff and make a surprise Xbox title announcement, and get new details on Halo Wars 2 with Dan Ayoub from 343 Industries. Also Fullbright debuts a new demo of the ID@Xbox title Tacoma. Plus, Xbox’s Major Nelson stops by and more surprises.

So Twisted Pixel (former 1. party) will announce their next game during YouTube Live at E3.
Will be interesting to see if Microsoft dropped another ball.

Of course they did lol

Why wouldn't it be announced at the press conference if it was exclusive?

I think the Slim will look very nice, then again I've liked all of Xbox's console designs since the original, Xbox One included so I am a bit biased in that regard.

Oh yeah I definitely know where you are coming from and I agree with you, it just seems like something Microsoft isn't much interested in. I will say that if they wanted, they could definitely produce, after all gaming tends to lend itself well to surprises.

Thinking more about the quality and success, not exclusivity.

But why announce it at the livestream, then?

More from YouTube Live:

and
Xbox's Aaron Greenberg also stops by with a new announcement.

Glad to see you perk up a bit. Sheez!

I need Panos to come on stage and rip off his t-shirt and go super saiyan.

I also need Phil at the back saying "Has he really done it, has he really turned the big VCR box into a slim-line DVD player?".

I would die of amazement, lol.

I'm probably most hyped for Sea of Theives, I need some current gen Rare magic in my life.

Question!

If Phil came on stage and told us that Xbox is going back to pre 2009 Xbox 360 with a new Conker, Banjo and K 3, PD2, PGR6 and many more, how much of a megaton would that be?
