Update [10/06/2016]: I have received some additional information regarding its aforementioned showing to the media. One source claims there will be an invite-only presentation behind closed doors for press.

I don't like this part.

Out of all the games at E3, why would RE7 need a behind closed doors presentation? Could there be some kind of interesting tech that they're implementing? Maybe it's running on Panta Rhei?

There is absolutely no chance that 4 million projected title is not Resident Evil 7. And it's coming out in less than a year.

It's not like RE7 is a secret, Capcom has been talking about it pretty openly. Now we know when it is revealed and approx released however.

Four million just for RE7, that seems like a low but healthy number to sell, any news on exclusivity?

No.
It's gonna be a reboot and will change some things about Resident Evil.

Well I mean we already know about Norse GoW, Dead Don't Ride being there so that is two major first party titles leaked or at least details about them.

Then there is Resident Evil 7, another big title leaked but it might be at Microsoft. And it seems everyday there is something new about Spiderman and Red Dead. And little ripples about Crash returning (and now basically confirmed at least as a Skylander)

So I'm not really buying that we don't know majority of the new stuff shown there.

I'm really just referring to solid rumors as we always have people saying they've heard this or they've heard that. It's why people were convinced that Sony Bend's game would be at E3 or PSX last year. There's a big difference between Siliconera or The Guardian reporting on something and random posters/Twitter users. That's what i'm really referring to. There's really nothing solid like that happening this year. At least not as of now.

It's just for this fiscal year. So they expect it to sell that much by next March.

No, and I don't see why it would be. The rereleases are leading up to this on both PS4 and Xbox. It could get some marketing deal doe, who knows. Microsoft had some exclusive content on Operation Raccoon City.

At this point I'm ready to put faith in Shinobi on this. I don't remember there being any insider claiming Bend to show last year, just a lot of ''it's been 100 years, they gotta show up right?''

And for GOW it's both Shinobi and Nerdleaks stuff.

As for Crash Bandicoot the Skylander leak pretty much confirms he is coming back. We just don't know in what form, it could be just the skylander but I'd hope Sony is not that out of touch to tease that. Might be a new game, might be a HD remaster, who knows. But Crash will be at this year's E3.

Okay, thank god. I remember RE6 selling over 5 million and a lot of people hated it. I just couldn't imagine an old school styled RE7 not selling anymore.

Marketing deal to Sony is pretty much a given considering they will use that to boost U Corps presence. Also, it seems that Sony is pretty much Capcom's main partner this generation.

Well we know Capcom is doing Dead Rising 4 for Microsoft this E3.

That however kinda makes me dobt them shelling money for another zombie game from the same company.

CoD timing data. We've officially exhausted all possible avenues of hype generation.

Good post though.

I even asked in the NPD thread if anyone had accurate COD figures since I wanted to see if there was any correlation between the success of the respective games, and the amount of time dedicated to them.

That's why you asked? Correlation between legth of E3 presentation and sales?
That's madness!

Square won't have a conference this year.

Which is kinda shame since they easily have enough stuff for a conference. The content isn't their problem, it's 100% the presentation. I hope they return next year but this time hire a single good host or something and make a show rather than emulating 2007 style conference.

Therefore CoD needs no stage time if there's not correlation :P

Honestly, even if it's not shown at all it will sell a shitload.

COD at E3 is for two reasons:
The publisher can play alpha male
The platform holder that is blessed with the right to present it can play alpha male.

COD at E3 is like calling your relatives at christmas. A waste of time but it just has to be done.

They released so many stuff in the 2 weeks before the E3. They really could have had a conference.

Given Insomniac have just put out a 3rd person VR game I don't think it's ourmtsidecthr realms of possibility that a Spidey game might come with a VR mode at least.

Lol at Spiderman exclusive to VR. Would be the dumbest idea of all time. It does not make any sense. Maybe and maybe a VR mode or some shit but exclusive to VR ? I don't believe it. Seems too stupid to me.

Am I the only one that's just not feeling the hype at all this year? I really don't know within the realm of possibility what Sony could announce that would get me hyped. I've never played a Red Dead nor a God of War, and the only VR game I'm remotely interested in is Ace Combat 7, but that game will probably be overlooked during the conference in favor of other stuff.

It's absolute bonkers!

but still...

I sense.... causation!

Try Red Dead, you might like it. If you like action adventure stuff.

Get hyped for the Bandicoot.

And Ni No Kuni 2.

And Gravity Rush 2.

And Nioh!

Yea, I saw that. Unfortunately I was away from my data (laptop) at the time. I only had BLOP III data anyways. The rest of my CoD data is incomplete.

I've never played Ni No Kuni (even though my friend offered it to me for free) nor Gravity Rush, and I saw my roommate play Nioh, but even though it looked fairly fun (if a little unfair at points), I would need to see more to get interested.

As for Crash, I played through the original PS1 trilogy earlier this year, and I absolutely could not stand the first one (really BS save/bonus system), and while I did enjoy the other 2, I honestly do not know how they could bring the series into the modern age of platformers.

Try God of War.

Aside from that, what type of games do you like?

Edit - Play Gravity Rush 2!!!

That's what it really comes down to though. I don't think last year's E3 was nearly as mind blowing for me as it was for everybody else (I'm just not that into Ico games or Shenmue), but the first-party fervor has gotten to me this year. Sony Santa Monica and Bend are exciting the hell out of me. A Spider-Man game? GIMME! And I really want to know what Sucker Punch is up to, but it seems like that would be too much at this point (given how many first parties have been working on games longer than SP).

Edit: you should definitely play Gravity Rush.

Well, what do you like then?
