Phil Spencer dropping the backwards-compatibility bomb last year still makes me beam. It was so out of nowhere - no leaks, no one thought it was possible; even in hype and 'dream-list' threads it was absent.

Easily my favourite announcement of any E3 I've watched.

It was even more awesome being there at the conference because everything comes up on the teleprompter like 5 seconds before announce so people who could see it from where they sat were all gasping
