A nightclub? Fucking hell.

The ease in which someone, anyone can pull off a mass shooting in this country is fucking disgusting, and the fact there's lobbyists, politicians and many, MANY millions of dollars to ensure that can't be fixed in anyway is some sub-human shit.

The reports of a controlled explosion makes me curious. Possible terrorism?

I hope there aren't too many people hurt or killed. Horrible news all around.

A minor point, but the presence/lack of explosives has no bearing on whether it's a terrorist attack or not.

No, there's no way I'm serious. Come on, guys.
It's fucking heartbreaking to read these stories EVERY DAMN DAY. We need to get our shit together and really talk about the current gun control we have. This shit has got to stop.

Unfortunately there are many pro-gun nuts whom are that stupid.

I can't believe this is happening in Orlando. I'm dreading this press conference. I hope the casualties are few, but watching those witness videos is heartbreaking. All that gunfire... This is just so damn sad...

Watching the US news feeds and struck by how small and confined a nightclub that seems. Would be easy to cause utter chaos in such an enclosed area with an assault rifle.

I've seen people seriously posting worse shit than that on other parts of the Internet. I don't know what to think about.

Clearly though this could've been prevented. If every nightclub goer was packing heat and wary of their dark surroundings instead of having fun and drinks they could've stopped the gunmen before a single shot could've injured a responsible all-American gun owner. And while we're at it they should've been wearing night vision goggles with infrared sensors so the obscure nightclub scene wouldn't come between a would-be hero gun owner and his rightful duty. A duty that in no way could result in an innocent bystander being injured or killed by mistake.

Before his term is over, Obama is going to go HARD on guns and he will drag Hillary along with him
Obama ain't doing shit because the truth of it is that Americans are totally on board with random people getting shot as long as they get to keep their toys.

I haven't read too much into this story yet, either, but if it turns out that most of these victims were black? This story is gone by Tuesday.

This shit scares me to hell and back.

Obama sure as fuck tried but when 20+ six year olds get slaughtered by an assault rifle and Americans decided doing nothing was the right solution we knew there are very few worse situations that could ever sway this decision. What first graders being killed didn't change won't happen because a handful of innocent adults (apparently mostly black to boot) won't change shit either.

This was definitely a hate crime which is probably stating the obvious. The shooter must have taken note of the fact that there is a hospital just down the street yet targeted the gay nightclub anyway.

Chief Mina said an officer engaged the shooter and it turned into a "hostage situation." Decision was made to rescue hostages.

Easily the most significant mass shooting of 2016.
- Shooting in Piketon, OH in April saw 8 deceased.
- Shooting in Hesston, KS in February saw 4 deceased, 14 injured.

Most significant in 2015 was 16 dead, 19 injured in San Bernardino in December.

The NRA is so strong in FL that their legislation is enacted almost verbatim. One more thing I hate about this state.

So it seems like initial reports of 20 dead were right..crap this is horrible

FBI says the suspect may have "leanings" toward jihadist terrorism.
