Xbox One S: 40% smaller, 2TB, 4K for movies/tv, internal PSU, $300

So with this controller revision, is the Elite controller outdated? I got one recently and it's gonna suck if there's a revision around the corner.

Here's a size comparison I jotted in Photoshop.

Lmao from the left it looks like ps4..from right.. som cover my grandma would put on glass table.

Once the over reaction from leaks settle down we will get real opinions from gaffers.

based off those renders it barely looks smaller

again, a 15% reduction of size along each axis would still mean a roughly 40% reduction in total volume. (0,85*0,85*0,85 = 0,614 => -39%)

People had weird expectations when they heard "40% smaller", like the console would be half the size.

Neat, I wonder what the price of it is supposed to be. Really hoping its possible to have 4k as a game display resolution, even if only a few games could support it.

Whaaat, why is it that high? I'm on 20c per kWh and I thought we had it bad (electricity has to be imported from other countries, usually Vietnam).

It's really gotten out of hand! California for you, I guess. I never really thought much about console power consumption until I realized just how much we were paying. Even just to stream video - the power consumption is far higher than it really should/could be if some hardware optimizations were integrated during design phase for when you aren't gaming.

There are currently 3 tiers (down from 4), and the more you use the more you'll pay, in order to encourage conservation. (This, in my opinion, is a fundamentally unfair system that doesn't consider number of people in a household, etc).

They are reducing it to only two tiers in about a year, in an effort to make it more fair, so our costs will come down then - as there won't be as big as a gap between tier one and two.

But for now, any power we save represents significant savings as all that savings is coming off the highest tier. We cut off about $100 by going 100 percent LED.

Forgot to say it looks kinda sexy in white, still going for that Scorpio though.
Wow it has built in 4K output support. Suck that PS4.5.
Have you seen that PS4.5? Please tell us more. And don't say "the rumors tells us that.." because nothing is confirmed till we see it with or own eyes in regards to that new "thing" Sony's working on.

People struggle with maths in three dimensions.

I almost shelled out $400 for that damn Samsung UHD player. So if I can sell one of my two Xbox's and get this bad boy I am golden.

Wow that's like the best looking console I've ever seen. The normal xbox one is very nice looking but the size really spoils it. This is just flat and low enough to look sleek. And the internal power is more appropriate for something this size.

Well, if that scale is correct, slim is a poor choice of name. Your Slim version of a console is bigger than the competitors original console that is also more powerful? It could easily pass as the original Xbox One and most people wouldn't notice.

I'm in. Making the jump.

Will be my first Xbox (not counting an Crystal OG XBox I acquired last year for my retro collection)

This looks HOT!!! But it kinda looks fat as fuck... Really like the look all around tho. Hoping PS4 slim is actually slim

Seems to be saying controller has been redesigned, but I don't see anything different about it at all. D-pad still looks appalling as ever... how many controllers do MS need to design before they get something so basic right?

Will be interesting to see the pricing for this... surprised it's still somehow bigger than a PS4 though.

I don't think it's called the Slim

OP needs to update the title
