How come his argument doesn;t apply to Scorpio?

Well to be fair, Colin said Sony should just release a powerful PS5 that's b/c with PS4 next year, instead of doing something sightly more powerful this year. I'm sure X2 is just more of what he prefers. Colin is a pretty big Sony guy.

Wat ? I have a 55 inch Sony 905 on the wall and a 55 inch 4K Pany 802 on the same wall next to it with 2 x Ps4 (games room). UK, USA and probably Germany markets will be swayed by Performance in games imo.



My Ps4 struggles with games like Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Just Cause 3. I am tired of 30 FPS, runs like shit. No, I dont want to game on PC, I want a GOOD console.

Blame the devs. It's a choice - graphics or fps. It always will be, too, and that's why I don't care about iterative consoles. Many devs always choose to have slightly better looking textures at the expense of a smoother fps

Only those who really invested in videogames care about resolution and framerate. My sister bought a xbox one for her son, because he wanted to play Halo. She doesn't care or know if the console runs at low res and what not. As for the policies, it already left a bad taste in people even though they tried to backpedal after Sony's conf.

No, but the 10-15 million that switched 360 to Ps4 on day 1 (early adopters) main driver was 1080p and better frame rates. It was not exclusives as we were 360 players !

If Scorpio is $ 600 and is those specs, it will sell well in UK and USA and MS will be happy with their high end console / PC customers.

Then they will switch back 2 years later when Sony bring out a better machine than Scorpio .

Lot of folks only buy consoles at $300 and below and that's when a bunch of good games are already out. X2 is not going up against PS5 in a traditional reset, it's going against a giant userbase trying to get people to switch or at least buy both. That's a tough sale IMO. Because the people that take your console from 20 million to 120 million are really just starting to buy right now.

I agree Sony shouldn't put out anything drastically underpowered to what X2 is next year, but they really don't have to match specs with MS.

That's the biggest problem right now. People think twice before getting a second console as subscriptions cost money.

I liked the Xbox conference, but I'm pretty sure Sony will "beat" them easily - there simply were no real big surprises (don't get me wrong, FH2 & Sea of Thieves looked amazing, and the Scorpio reveal was quite a thing). On the other hand, it seems like there have been no leaks on Sony's side (at least not to my knowledge), so there is a much higher chance of big "Wow" moments..
