You're right

All that's been said:
Tune in starting at 9 a.m. PT to see the Pokémon™ Sun and Pokémon Moon games in action, followed by the world’s first in-depth look at the new Legend of Zelda™ game. The day will continue with livestreamed gameplay and behind-the-scenes info from the game experts of Nintendo Treehouse—live and unscripted from the show floor.

Then be sure to come back for a second day of livestreaming, starting at 10 a.m. PT on June 15. The day will start with a special Pokémon GO developer Q&A session. Then Nintendo Treehouse: Live will showcase upcoming games such as Monster Hunter Generations, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.

They kind of said something different in their most recent press release.

It implied that it'd be Reggie(introducing a Zelda trailer???), then Pokémon, then Zelda gameplay so who knows???

I think this is the PR from last week that you're referring to:

June 14

Nintendo Treehouse: Live – Day 1: Nintendo’s kickoff to the E3 trade show begins at 9 a.m. PT, with an introduction by Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime and the world’s first look at live gameplay of The Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U console. Viewers can also catch the first live gameplay of the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games. Watch Nintendo Treehouse: Live via Nintendo’s channels on YouTube and Twitch, as well as on the Nintendo E3 page.

June 15

Nintendo Treehouse: Live – Day 2: Starting at 10 a.m. PT, the Nintendo Treehouse: Live programming will showcase upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, including Monster Hunter Generations from Capcom, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. The day will start with a special Pokémon GO developer Q&A. Watch all of Nintendo’s action from the E3 show floor via Nintendo’s channels on YouTube and Twitch, as well as on the Nintendo E3 page.

Ya - I think defo quite a bit of Pokémon, perhaps a little Zelda tease beforehand, then the full dedicated Zelda trailer & sesh - site says Pokemon first

The reveal will be during the first hour. Then, Treehouse will livestream it for the rest of the day.

So, I think the previous Pokémon and Zelda PR (in SweetDonuts's post) made it sound like Pokémon was first. This newer PR above makes it sound like Zelda first. I guess we will have to say but as GMPoo said above, it sounds like Reggie + Zelda then Pokémon first look then a longer Zelda look. Anyone interpreting the above differently? (I'm kind of combining the two PR statements to reach my conclusion here. Which is admittedly partly speculative. It's sort of murky just what they mean in terms of the order of things.)

(Actually, re-reading the above PR, I honestly don't know what to think. It makes it sound like there not be a dedicated Zelda trailer rather than just live gameplay and at this point that would surprise me. I guess even if we didn't get one during the presentation I would still expect one to be uploaded by Nintendo. We will have to see in just 18 hrs or so...)

Yep.

I fully expect NX to be a cheap console. $199, even.

Yes please. What is it the young persons say--Nintendo, slay?

Turn on the Nintendo stream, showing Axiom fucking Verge. "What's new?" "The map on the game pad! Please pay full price in six months!"

Why do they bother porting shit so late after the fact?

They'll do a Direct later on this year most likely. They just chose not to do it at E3 is all. Sony is doing the same thing with their PS4k.

I expect a Direct, yeah, at the same time as a press hands or eyes on event, or perhaps if no Direct, then a dedicated SpaceWorld type event.

At this point, they're better off launching something much weaker than them for $150-200. No AAA western third-party support is confirmed already anyway, so what's the point in even matching current-gen? At least if it's cheap enough that 3-4 games can make it an impulse buy it'll sell as a secondary console and might match GameCube sales-wise. Otherwise, it's just another Wii U.

When was no Western AAA support confirmed?

I suppose it boils down to who you talk to. I don't disagree with you, they do need to differentiate themselves against the other power houses or imo won't survive. I think my comment may have been misinterpreted or I misrepresented myself, in any case their need to innovate will obviously be a part of their success (or failure for that matter) which generally goes hand in hand with that Nintendo flavoured game development. Peace.
Don't worry man. I wasn't complaining especifically about your post, but more about the notion of power and what is needed to have a succesfull console. Peace. :)

Well after what was shown today, Zelda shouldn't have a problem being Game Of The Show. Only The Last Guardian might even compete. For me at least.

The first time I'm hearing about Severed. Looked pretty good. I really enjoyed Guacamelee so I'm up for anything coming out from Drinkbox.

not that i don't love indie games, but this e3 is gonna be a real struggle for nintey... while im hyped to see zelda, im hoping its enough to not leave the impression of how weak nintendos position looks right now surrounded by everyone else...

First time I'm hearing of Severed, but the art style is horrendous. Legitimately some of the worst art for a game I've seen in a while. I hated Guacamelee's art style too, so no surprise.

Hard pass.

Here's my theory:

- Triforce Heroes concept expanded (you need several players to complete a dungeon, beat a boss... etc.)
- Link is an NPC not the traditional hero of past games (this could explain several heroes like female Link)
- The climb thing is going to be a main theme on the game (I'm jokingly calling the game "Triforce Climbers").
- The Treehouse demo will be multiplayer focused (that's where I think resides the main novelty... maybe something related to the interaction between them? getting ítems, beating bosses... etc.?)

And yeah, the reaction from the gamers would be a repeat of the Wind Waker reveal hahaha

Edit: hahaha relax guys! It's just my opinion ;D
Tri Force Heroes was one of my favorite Zelda games and been getting into more online games so hells yeah. The only problem in TFH was that its hard to find games since not alot of poeple bought it + region locks. Atleast more should buy this so it'll last much longer.

This game was exclusive monetarily for a long while, it couldn't get ported until now, sony for some reason really loves getting indie games that are love letters to nintendo games as exclusive.

I really don't want to say this, but I think it may be time for Nintendo to start releasing their console games on other platforms. I just don't think Nintendo can support a home console that is home to all the essential games anymore.

I suppose they consider going that route when it becomes unsustainable to do their own hardware and not when it appears it might be unsustainable to do so in the future based on the projections of kuhnbeast91.

Kinda sure the gameplay and everything will be awesome on this new Zelda... but something that has me a lil' concerned are the graphics. I honestly don't think the game will look as majestic as the leaked artwork. I just cannot see the Wii U producing that kind of graphics without some sort of sacrifice. NX version is our last hope of having an actual Zelda game that looks like the artwork.

As content restricted they are this year due to a later NX event etc. no one should have expected a huge youtube segment. Nintendo know's this a lean year at E3 and are not going to blow their limited load outside of their own presentations.
