Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

Pokemon UI always has too much going on. They really should clean it up. Now they have random scribbles behind the battle info.

Sony has multiple shows a year, so they can afford to make slightly leaner conferences with longer demos.

The only issue I really had with pacing on this one was Days Gone getting a reveal trailer, no one saying anything about it, and then thirty minutes later it is the closer.

I liked that, and don't consider it a pacing problem. The way it was positioned as the first trailer we've seen from Bend makes you assume 'oh its early, just a teaser and we'll hear more next year'. Then to close with actual gameplay plays against your expectations. I don't think it was a mistake, it was a deliberate juxtaposition.

What is this

This is pretty much why I thought it was the best conference. Just games games games, and none of the talking that normally makes me hate the Sony conferences. It was exactly how I go into e3 every year hoping they will all be. I was surprised as fuck when I saw the GB reaction to it all. The VR segment was pretty lame though.

The EA guys said something good - I think it was Ian who said it. They just let the games speak for themselves and just as importantly, there wasn't any 'exclusive to PS4' or 'first on PS4' or 'DLC first on PS4' that was so rife last year. I hadn't noticed until they mentioned it but it did help to keep things 'clean' as far as the presentations went.
